Both my children studied from Abeka, Pensacola Christian, all through high school. When it came time to graduate we made the trip to Pensacola and watched as they walked across the stage to graduate & receive their diploma. No regrets.

I love Xander’s desk and he’s learning to respect school books and supplies.

Former Teacher aide here whose been in the Education system for over 20 years. I can happily say the Father led me and my child out of the school system last year and I am just loving teaching at home. My child is excelling in one on one learning and "real" life skills. As well as plenty of fresh air and outside time where neither of us are limited to an annoying bell lol! We also join in with quite a few like minded home-schooling groups with activities twice a wk and sometimes more! My child socialises with children his own age and all different ages. It is amazing to see the children learn through play naturally as we all meet up. Everyone's situation is different and there is good schools still out there. Preschool for our children starts at 2 years 9 months through to when Year 1 starts at age four. When I teach children to write tall letters, we say "Down the fireman's pole". I have taught in a Christian school for 32 years. Black and brown desk fits perfectly.

I am a retired teacher and I am so glad you are getting Zander started with his schooling. He is so bright and curious. I love the desk and think it looks great where it is located. The curriculum looks really good and I like that it is so well scripted. You are a great Mom and you are looking wonderful.

We have eight children and have been home schooling for 18 yrs. This year we are down to our final two children. We are using Christian Light Education ( CLE ) . Home schooling has been a sacrifice and an even bigger blessing.

My two nieces home school their children. (PA) We got them desk at yard sales. We needed 5 in all. We also got some for ourselves. Not that we needed them, but they were old and I like that. I don’t know what kind of books they use. Thanks for showing the animals. The puppies were so cute. Take care and God Bless.

I LOVE the school desk!! It matches your couch and black wall!! It makes my heart glad to see this. I retired as a full time guest teacher here in California. You wouldn't believe what school looks like here. Anyway, I adore watching your videos. Every work ethic, family interaction, and your walk with Jesus is on the mark. That desk is in beautiful shape and brings back lots of memories. I went to elementary school in the 1950s and had desks just like that.

The meat chopper is an amazing tool, it can be used to shred cooked chicken and mash up meat and more. You can actually find it at Target, Walmart, Dollar General and other places as well as online.

So sweet seeing Zander sit at his desk. I teach pre-K and I use the Abeka curriculum. It's fabulous and points all lessons to God. My students love it!

Zander's smile can light up anyone's day!🥰 We use and used a mixture of different curricula...Abeka, BJU press, Masterbooks, The Good and the Beautiful (reading books). Next year, we might try Apologia Science. Th desk looks great!

I also struggle with providing food for families like at the time of a funeral. While my family seems to love my meals, I always wonder if others will find it worthy. I try to get past myself because they have a need greater than my fears. But it’s hard sometimes not to go to a fast food chicken place and buy a meal. One thing that helps is that usually when I take food to a family reunion, I don’t bring much home. So someone must like my cooking.

I love Abeka. I taught k4-K5 for about 6 years. Loved it. It was in our church.

Misty of The Macs found a new homeschool set-up fir her kids this year that she said she really liked. Their kids are from 15 to 1 years old, but instead of being all over the board, she gets the studies for one subject based on the kids grades... So in like studing the earth, there is one level for Aden @ 15 & then the different levels on the same topic down to the kindergartener. She explains it better, but her main point was she could work all the different age levels without a lot of extra time spent & it was Bible based. You might see if you like it, if you can find it. Glad that Zander enjoys his tractors so much & the puppies, they are so cute together.

Hey, I have just recently found your channel and have quickly fallen in love with the channel and your family! I have a little girl that will be five in August and we have been doing the Abeka K4 this year! She loves the curriculum, work pages and is reading a few words now!! She is also so interested in sounding things out and trying to spell them herself! I know this video is 3 months old. I hope y’all have enjoyed Abeka as much as we have! We also LOVE the Bible Curriculum! My little girl can quote over 10 verses now just because of the curriculum. It amazes me how much they soak in their little brains. Anyways, keep up the amazing work you are doing with Xander! Can’t wait to see your precious baby girl too!

ABeka is a great curriculum!! All of our children used it in private Christian School and our grandchildren now use it for Home School. I love Xander’s desk!

I think the school desk coordinates with the room very well. Zander always brightens my day!

Miss the Amish and Mennonite community in PA. Used to live in Snyder County and we were friends to many of them. Now we live in New England in NH. I do have family in Mifflin County PA, and there's lots of Mennonites in that area as well.

Good to see you back I was afraid you weren’t ok. I love to cook and bake but never enjoyed taking a meal somewhere either. Not sure why maybe like you I’m afraid they won’t like it. I don’t mind having people over though. Especially family as they love my food and my different way of cooking.

Zander is such an inquisitive young man. He has you and your husbands desire to learn. What a blessing. He will learn so very much from this program and with both of your help, will give him a major head start for the 1st grade. The desk is awesome. it looks perfect in the room, and fits Zander perfectly.

I wanted them (3 boys) to have social skills with others like you explained. Even though we had youth meetings at church and had outings with kids their own age, I felt that the school environment would help them with social skills. They also played sports in our school district, so they didn’t miss out on those things all the way to graduation. Alpha-omega is the curriculum we used. Very expensive but well worth it. Their older now, good jobs and married with families of their own ❤️

Jeannine, what a lovely video. Thank you. I homeschool and chose to use BJU Press. Before I had children I taught at a Christian school that used a combination of BJU and Abeka. I found both to be very good and an excellent resource for both teacher and homeschooling mum alike. Enjoy all these precious moments you are creating with yoυr son.

ABeka is a very good curriculum! I used it to teach kindergarten and first grade in our christian school for 33 years till we closed our school. Now I am using it to homeschool my niece's 3 children. You'll find it pretty easy to use.

We use started out homeschooling using CLP, but currently in our 2nd year using masterbooks and really like the gentle approach. I enjoy food videos, and seeing the new food ideas, keep them coming!

I bought my meat chopper at General dollar for 3.dollars it was Betty Crocker brand.

I think the desk looks perfect with that brown couch. As always, an enjoyable vlog to watch. The puppies are adorable! Something my children loved while learning pre school are patterns, matching and sets. You probably have some in your new learning books, but Dollar Tree especially has fun workbooks that are entertaining and great for teaching these forms. My guys would enjoy them like coloring books and a bonus as they were learning on top of it.

Xander is so good with the puppies! I'm the same as you with making meals for others! I get all nervous that they won't like my food, especially since we eat different than most people as well:-) Xanders desk is so nice, it reminds me of setting up our schoolroom more than 20 years ago for our two oldest children. We also had desks, and used A Beka for many years. Now I sit at a table with our four youngest, and use a variety of curriculum from TGATB, Teaching Textbooks, EvanMoor, All About Reading, and IEW! Have fun teaching preschool!

A Becka books, that takes me back. We home schooled through our county's charter school and supplemented ( replaced) California's curriculum with A Becka. I also used Bob books. Fun little books for learning sounds and as first readers. I too am uncomfortable cooking for other people! I'd much rather be outside caring for the animals. Burrito is adorable but I don't have to deal with him. Do you know how donkeys came to have the sign of the cross on them? After Jesus rode the colt donkeys have the dark hair in the pattern of the cross. You are looking well and Xander is such a sweet heart. Thanks for sharing a day in your life.

I used ABEKA as well. I think it makes it alot more interesting when there's lots of color, and of course that's what ABECKA is and that's probably the biggest reason I used them.

Thanks for sharing. The little desk brings back memories for me. There was a Catholic School near me and they were replacing old school desk. My mom brought one home for me. I was so excited. I loved school. I used that desk for homework, drawing and coloring. Hopefully Xander will love school. You are such an awesome mom.

Loved the video. I home schooled my children. The curriculum I used and loved when my children were pre school age is Rod and Staff.

Xander made my heart so happy when he showed you his skipping rock. He puts a huge smile on my face. Xander always looks so happy and well behaved. Thank you for sharing your family with us. Cooking didn't bother me. What did was any time that I had to address the congregation or meet new people. I am shy and have a very soft voice. People always ask me to speak up. It has taken me many years to overcome this. I can do it but I have panic attacks at times.

So good to see you guys back. The desk looks great there. It matches the room. We call that hamburger dish "Hamburger Hash." (we used mushroom soup) It was something my mom always made and now all the families of her grown children make it. Comfort food.

I love my Pampered Chef chopper also. It's one of the tools that you never realized how handy it would turn out to be.

My son is also 4- will be 5 in February. We are doing Pre school stuff at home - I just get diff. Workbooks etc from amazon. He will go to kindergarten next fall. He says he wants to be Zanders friend 😉. Hope the pregnancy is going well!

It's a very nice desk. Where I live we just learn the letter sounds to learn reading. (We also have letter combinations that have a certain sound). Later on we learn the letter names. I use a lot of educational games to teach certain concepts like quantities, addition, letter sounds. Not to much workbooks. Sand, clay, beats,

This brings back so many memories of homeschooling our boys who have now all grown up and flown the nest. We used Abeka as well and some CLE.

Now I want to go teach preK again! I used Abeka book when I homeschooled our two and then when I taught in our church's private school we used it there. My favorite grades to teach were always Kindergarten because it is so rewarding to teach a child to read...and fourth grade because their minds are still so eager to learn! You got a great deal on the school desk! It is beautiful.

Love my meat chopper. I homeschool our kids and we use Abeka. I have always used it. I know there are so many different options out there for curriculum but I started with Abeka and have stuck with it because it overwhelms me to look through all the options.

Boys and puppies go together so well. Our boys are loving our Golden Retriever puppies right now!

The puppies are adorable! And for the donkey, you might want to consider putting a mineral block or salt block in his pen. Sometimes when they chew on wood, they might have a salt deficiency. I enjoyed the video, thanks for sharing! 😊

I'm thrilled for you and your family with all the wonderful changes that are coming. I remember when my children were being home schooled and how excited they would get when their books would arrive especially the ones just starting school. Xander had that look, and it made me tear up as my memories reached back to my own children. I did use A Beka for years and found that to be the best for me and the children after having tried Bob Jones, Christian Liberty, ACE, etc. Every family has to find what is best for them. Burrito is such a beautiful donkey. He looks like he just likes company. How are you holding up? You look great. Xander is such a sweet natured boy. That little pup was thrilled and confused looking at the same time. Did you see the side eye he gave when Xander said he wanted to be picked up? LOL! I am not a cook either, but I enjoy trying recipes. My son can go in a pantry and throw something delicious together with all kinds of spices with no recipe at all. Not me. Still, I wouldn't worry about what I made for someone unless they are likely to try to build themselves up by tearing someone else down. You are making them a meal at a time of need. The only thing they should feel is grateful. Casseroles are great to most people. Would love to have a freezer and have a stash of them for those hurried days. Nothing like a happy belly. Everything that comes your way, you are just asked to handle with love. (I failed at that this morning, but "spilt milk". Already apologized to God. Now I have to try to do better the rest of the day.) Love Xander's desk! It shines and looks great in the room. There are dry erase books out there where he can go over dotted lines to draw the letters and then try to do them himself, (saw this on Neo KirchBaby's youtube video "Morning routine of stay at home mother of 3 2021 Sept." - looked it up so you could find it easily), but he can do that on regular paper too. Xander is a bouncy boy so any hands on learning is great for him, I bet.

We homeschooled our last 2 daughters, one was in 2nd grade and the other was in kindergarten. The youngest wasn't adjusting to school life very well, there was a mean kindergarten teacher and her practices was negative reinforcement which scared our Sarah. I took them both out for good measure and started Sarah, our kindergartener with a book called "Teach your Child to read in 100 Easy lessons" It is fantastic and she learned to read simple books within a couple of months. We taught the girls for 8 years.....the best time of our lives. My husband is a research scientist, Ph.D and had a science congress in Quebec, Canada one spring, we all packed up our popup camper, books, and headed off for the most wonderful two weeks trip. The girls never stopped their lessons and we got to see so much of the East Coast.

Thank goodness! Phonics! Many school teach sight reading now and I don't think a child recognizing a word is enough. They need to learn what the letters sound like to really learn how to read.

That’s a very nice school desk. Someone must of refinished it cuz it’s in good shape. I remember going to school using that same kind of desk. I think Atshly getting close to a antique. I love how you are teaching him to be organized. He asks a question ❓ You answer him right back at his level. Just a simple answer. I started home schooling 1978. You're doing WELL teaching your son. Homeschooling is a full time job. At first I didn't keep up with home chores. That was a major problem for a lot of us. We learn to adjust and work it in. At first, for years, many FAMILIES didn't know anyone else was homeschooling. We were in hiding we felt. Then, I found a few NEIGHBORS homeschooling. We started a SUPPORT groups for everything. Mom's. We met once a month, for Mom's, then for our children. We found a church that opened up their doors for us. Then, so much opened for us. Field trips, dad's group, sewing classes, car repairs, cooking classes. Over night sleep overs. Camp outs, Christmas talent shows, Most IMPORTANT we always started with prayer. Then bible studies. GOD PROVIDED SO MUCH FOR US. WE WERE ALL LEARNING AND GROWING TOGETHER. NOW LOOK AT HOMESCHOOLING. AT LIBRARY, IT'S EVERY WHERE. AT FIRST PASTOR'S AND PARENT'S WERE GOING TO JAIL FOR THEIR BELIEVE IN TEACHING OUR CHILDREN. PRAISE GOD🀄🛐✝️🇺🇸💯🌟❤️ HE OPENED THE DOORS FOR US . THANK YOU JESUS. THANK YOU LORD. Took bite size beef. Browned it. Added cream of mushroom soup LARGEST size. Cooked on the stove and hour or so. Add no water. It was the best. Some times she would mix 2 or 3 small cans of different cream soups together. Add mushrooms, carrots, onions,. It was simple to make, but we ate a lot at each meal. Now you can slow cook it or how ever you can. She used a dutch oven pan. She also sometimes put it in the oven. Mom USUALLY made mashed white potatoes with it. It was one of the best. Great for giving to another family. Easy for them to reheat. I sure miss my mom and dad a lot. I WILL see them again. I AM PRAYING FOR YOU. DID XANDER NAME HIS SCHOOL? I'm always looking foward to your videos! I love watching you interact with your son! Your such a good mom!☺ I decided to try ACE for my son Joshua this year, and so far it's been going great. They incorporate bible verses in every booklet(which is called pace's), and they encourage memorizing them upon completion of each pace. He actually can recite all the verses to me by memory. My son loves this curriculum, and he's been excelling throughout each one! Also, it's very affordable. I'm a fan of any curriculum that incorporates the word of God, while giving children a good education! Thank you for sharing, and God bless you Jeanine, Nolan and Xander!💖
