Menorca is the second-largest island of the Balearics. The island is in fact the visible peak of a limestone mountain range that lies beneath the sea.
It possesses multiple treasures such as outstanding prehistoric sites (Minorca is home to the largest concentration of prehistoric monuments in the world), fine-sand beaches and a preserved biosphere.
But one cannot fully understand the soul of Minorca without having witnessed the festivals of Saint John and tasted the famous pomada, the alcohol-laced lemonade served generously throughout the festivities.
