It's just amazing how many ignorant kids are out there! "His car needs more upgrades". Back in the day, the early days of drifting, coming from street drifting it was all about man-handling the car to do what the driver wanted, nowadays the cars do a heck of a lot more than what the driver does. Put it simply, back in the day a driver required a heck of a lot more skill to get a car sideways, whereas today a tap of the gas will do. Learn some facts kids, learn some drifting history. It hasn't disappeared, if you have an internet connection to leave ignorant comments, you can use that internet connection to educate yourselves.

fuck I love cars & motor sport, every vehicle has its place regardless of what everyones idea of the best car/motor/chassis/suspension setup/track/class bla bla bla is, all I can say about this video is that it is one of the most exciting in car drift videos I've ever watched, there are some parts where I feel like the car is slightly under powered for his aggressive style, but once he masters the gear/revs he attacks the same corners much harder. personally im hooked on RB and 2J motors, but the sound of that 4 banger stretched to its limit, pure motor, music to any true fans ears!

Sweet baby Jesus! That was wicked! Connecting some of those transitions. Would really like to see him drive without people in front of him continuously getting in the way. I could tell he was definitely getting pissed off here and there about it... At least I'm assuming that's what the birds and aggressive bits on the back section were about.

@Sean Glenn - This isn't Kansei (kansai) : ) Running Free are based in Kanagawa, and this was the recent event at Tsukuba - not trying to be know it all, just trying to help your learning of their history.. (source: goes to Japan)

Sounds about right to me. Third gear on entry, probably 4.77 rears that all motor 8-6 guys love at about 8500rpm. More than likely has a trd cross mission too. So 100mph or so wheel speed in the top of third.

After watching this I realized that this was the Tsubaka Circuit!

Seriously, hearing people talk crap about AE86's upsets me. Sure, it wont win in a straightaway, but it will rape any car in the corners. Drift or not. I own one. No, i cant beat much of any vehicle on the road. I cant beat a Cobra or a Challenger. I can barely beat a Pontiac G6. But what ive learned through personal experience and studies, is that those cars would have a much higher chance of losing if it were any sort of downhill or X-race. Especially drift. Not saying those cars cant beat an 86, just saying you'd have to be very skilled to try it with those high HP straightaway bricks. Who cares if your challenger has 355hp. Cool! I have 115! Do me a favor, Challenger guy, go corner that!
