It might be a 1967 antique VW Type 2, including the stretch pick up truck with longer doors and chopped top. It also featured oblong skylights, but it is the last year for it along with 6 volt electrical system.
Uwonk Konk you don’t know much do you? Lol Have you ever been to a sanctioned race? Or do you just roam the internet watching GTR street racing videos and talk like you know what it takes to build a 1,500hp engine?
untold44 it’s a show car. Why would they melt the rings, fry the blower every pass just to make full HP when the cars just for show. You guys are slower than this things lap times. Again learn more about Top Fuel before you start talking shit. Top fuel and Nitro basically blow their engines every pass making those power numbers. He’s not winning races he’s giving the crowd a show. Mot to mention his c5 that has a build crate race motors wheel base and weight is about 1/4 of this thing. And no it’s not on low boost his 7.9 pass was with massive 6870’s and no it’s not on low boost. Not to mention do you even know the amount of CFM a 68 puts out? Do you even know what CFM is?! But the fact you used him as your main example explains a lot. 1320 was probably your first time getting into drag racing and now you think you know everything about it.
I had a VW bus. It went downhill pretty good but when I needed to go uphill I had to call a tow truck. The front window leaked and when it rained the floor filled up with 6 inches of water. I think it was the water conservation option.
Cleetus McFarland is running 7.8 around the 170’s mph with small tire and about 1500 hp. Might even weigh more too. It’s a cool bus, but not all that fast compared to others
Cleetus McFarland doesn't drive a Campervan dragster....completley different !! Mental breakdown has now ran a 7.2 at about 198mph (not 100% sure on terminal speed)
They are both In the 7s right now and Leroy has multiple disadvantages. Small tire, aero, less power, just less all around. This van is fast, like really fast, but Leroy is fast as hell for a small tire car with tons of disadvantages.
@@User22435 and to think a fwd honda civic has just run a 7.47 @ 215mph at the Haltech World Cup Finals in the USA.....always someone faster out there :) :)
When VW introduced the Type 2 bus, it was powered by an 1100cc flat four that produced 25 hp. This is quite an upgrade. BTW this has to be more than 1700 hp.
This has me so conflicted! Half of me is saying "what a fantastic piece of engineering look at the power" and the other half is saying "god damn I hope that's not an original split window VW as they're rare as fook! And looked awesome!!" Hahaha
check out details on the builders website - www.theintergalacticcustomshop.com/about-us.html Here is some info.....Designed and built by Wayne Allman , Mental Breakdown started life as a 1965 Volkswagen single cab pick up. Badly damaged in a fire, it probably would have been scrapped if it had not been transformed into the dragster it is today. It still has the original cab and doors, although these have been modified to lose a total of 14 inches in height and fit snugly onto the custom built 4130 chrome moly chassis.
