The playboy celebrity from girls next door also came out as having autism couple weeks ago and some other celebrity whose name I forget. All cheering themselves on for discovering their autism and becoming the face of autism in mainstream media. Sure, It's possible they all have extremely high functioning autism but its beginning to misrepresent what autism is. People who truly suffer from it, and the families that have to be their life long caretakers struggling to keep them safe on a daily basis because of it. So I dunno, seeing a new celebrity claim autism every other week just seems as though it's extremely trendy/popular right now, that's all. But I guess it's whatever. Everyone in the world just has a mental disorder now, that's fine.

@@prtdiva actually being diagnosed by therapist is not considered a clinical diagnosis. You still have to be referred to a psychiatrist for it to be clinical. Behavior analyst nor a therapist can actually give a clinical diagnosis. Therapist for a behavior analyst, however, suspect that you have it and if all the markers of having a disorder, their diagnosis isn’t clinical.

Not true. Especially for adult diagnosis of autiam which is well established in the community. Are you a licensed therapist who works with autism or something COMPLETELY UNRELATED bc this is scary if you are. Check the study of the University of Washington self diagnosis accuracy for adult autism.

Formallyknownashandle-I do believe that a lot of people do have ADD or are on some type of spectrum. Especially if you’re an 80s or 90s kid,they didn’t often test you. I literally don’t have a friend who doesn’t have ADHD or isn’t on the spectrum. My son is on the spectrum.
