This episode of Soundboard Sundays Podcast we chat about mental health struggles independent artists face, struggles the black community faces because we don’t talk about mental wellness and I also share a mental breakdown I fought, loss and what I learned.
Too often I see coaches offering strategies on how to make money, how to market, how to level up in skills but most never talk about the silent war fought in the minds of people in entertainment. Too often this struggle is only realized when the entertainer loses control in public or worse, they commit suicide. Fans want to be entertained and that is our job as singer-songwriters, music producers and performers. So our job on this podcast is to ask how you are doing and prompt you to ask yourself that question often.
You have a gift that must be brought to the public. Financial freedom from sharing that gift is the dream. How you come out on the other side, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally is of the most importance. - Matty
