I want to understand her better. She’s not nearly as self aware of conscious of her condition but I really want to expand my compassion towards her because her reality is different from mine.

I was diagnosed in 2010 for paranoid schizophrenia. Didn't know it was hereditary until my mom noticed the symptoms bc she recognized them from her mom, my grandma. Its been difficult and some days are rougher than others. If I'm not on medication I tend to attack myself physically and can't tell up from down. So I really have to be consistent in taking them. I'm glad I have a job that keeps me busy as well as my artwork that helps me release some of the feelings and emotions.

I recently was going through a lot of what this woman was going through. I was scared my roommate was poisoning me. Thought I was being sex trafficked and that people were following me everywhere. I was never religious before but when I started hearing voices it really scared me. So I started praying to Jesus to help me and cure me from the paranoia and fear I was experiencing. Im also experiencing this, seeing a shadow figures on the walls, ceiling, floor i se shadow figures everywhere at the corner of my eyes but when i look directly to it they're gone. And sometimes i hear the voices at the back of my head sometimes screaming at my ears but like silent(like a screaming whisper i can't explain sorry) especially when im about to sleep but i can't say that this is schizophrenia of smth cuz i didn't go to a doctor to check up on my mental health and i don't want people to call me attention seeker im just a 18 years old boy who wants to enjoy my teenage life but i can't live happily because of what im seeing and feeling. I have this disorder and am only 15 i been experiencing severe stress everyday and panic attack that is uncomprehendable for me, i never heard any voice but theres like an internal thought inside my mind that replaces the sound people normally hear.

My biological mom has it and she refuses to believe she has it. She thinks these voices are real. I keep trying to tell her it’s not humanly possible for people to be able to hear other peoples voices in their head. It’s gets very overwhelming to deal with.
My girlfriend tells me that the voices I hear are evil spirits. I also hear loud whispers and see shadows at night. Oh dear, thank you so much for sharing. Here in Germany every single person has access to medication, if they want to, but it still is a process of finding the right. And some symptoms don't vanish completely. Love and respect to you for your wit, your courage, the work you do. Blessings
I can't do voice chats or video calls with people I always get that delusion "what if there is another person watching me? Spying on this video call" and the bus, whenever I have to take one I have to sit on the back so no one is behind me, and when I have to go to the loo, I always get the "what if I'm unconscious in a bed in a hospital and I'm about to pee myself?" Like AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH Anyway, good video, schizophrenics has a bad wrap as violent unhinged people, while mostly we are victims of violence instead of the violent ones and when we are violent people never consider why we are being violent they just dismiss it as part of the mental illness without considering that we are in a fight or flight situation.
Please don't think me a bad person because I do have a question my niece was diagnosed with schizophrenia she hears voices she cannot work right now and she is trying to get better she's seeking help she knows that she is struggling but what is surprising me if she has very good hygiene habits and I am grateful for that I am just surprised is this common for someone to struggle this way and still maintain good hygiene habits
Trauma can cause a lot of problems in our lives. My biological parents put me up for adoption, and while I was in my mother's womb, I knew that I wasn't wanted (words that were spoken) This put me into emotional bondage (fear, insecurity, rejection). Developing a personal relationship with Jesus is what helped me, and I learned that I was suffering from demonic oppression. Demons are drawn to negative emotions/deception - the lies we believe about ourselves. Lies that tell us we're rejected, hopeless, a victim, can't deal with life, etc. I read the Bible everyday, which anchors me in the truth, that Jesus will never rejects me and He protects me thru faith in Him. Do you keep a journal? Determining what you are thinking/feeling before you hear voices will reveal what area the enemy is attacking you in. I quote Bible/God's promises when my thoughts go negative. Demon's flee when we resist negative words/thoughts and give our problems to Jesus. It's difficult to take our thoughts captive, but the victory is thru Jesus. God bless you♥️

My sister definately has this.she is so delusional and has had very paranoid episodes.she also stresses alot all the time even about the tiniest of things. :-( My sister is very obstreperous which means very overally loud no matter what she does. Like totally uneccesarily loud even with the smallest of tasks.Bang slam crash kinda person. Not sure if everyone who has this is exactly the same.I read up on it and Apparently they have control issues and will never change the way they do things or modify there behaviour atall for anyone,alongside delusional beliefs actually thinking she does things quietly. My sister gets very angry towards even my mum,even though she knows my mums not very well atall. You cannot say anything to her, I have tried in the most diplomatic reasonable way possible really reaching out to try and talk sense into her,really trying to help.But still she continues the same. :-( Everyone around my sister trys there very best to help whenever she needs it but it's never ever good enough or she just throws it back in your face.complaining etc.It makes you feel like not helping that person atall,making you feel pushed away. I was always told to be on medication for mental illness, I asked Jesus to come into my life since then I really feel better, and sometimes it bothers me just a little but I watch Jesus' movie, and all of sudden I feel relaxed and strong. There are millions of people w/out schizophrenia who don’t have a home or anyone to take care of them if they lose there job or get sick. It’s always a good idea to save for the future and for a rainy days.

Honestly I don't know anyone with this on a deeply personal level. I will admit that people with Schizophrenia do scare me at times like when I meet them in public and they're homeless. I find myself wondering how I could help them. I worked in disability advocacy for a few years and I learned that most of these people do have family but the family just cannot cope and just let them live on the streets. I see them talking to thin air, making threats, telling people to leave them alone, saying repetitive things and calling names of people who are not around. Some years ago a homeless man in my city hit a teenager unprovoked with a metal pole in her face and caused some degree of blindness to one of her eye. That incident I will admit got me more scared of people who have hallucinations. I had to deal with a person who seemed to have this in a professional setting some months ago. I walked on eggshells around her for about 8 months - she didn't come to work regularly when she was supposed to but her boss was very lenient with her because he was careless himself. I will admit I preferred when she didn't come to work despite the fact that it did have undesirable repercussions but I did not feel safe around her. One day she ended up living in our office with her son. At first it was thought that she had an issue with her landlord - so her boss said - but she was supposed to leave the job anyway and fly out to a new city so we were told she'd be there for 2 weeks max. Then she blamed my boss for her homelessness and acted hostile towards me. When asked how that was she wouldn't answer. When my boss finally showed up to follow up on her claims she acted like she never said it. Then she told lies on me to my boss when I wasn't around. Then when my boss left she told lies on my boss to me. Then she started spreading lies about my boss to visitors at the office. At this time I was getting fed up of her. I would hear her have conversations loudly on her phone many of them based on conspiracy theories. I was wondering how much longer did I have to deal with this before I found another job. Then one day my boss after months of me trying to tell them how mentally unstable she was finally saw the disturbing behaviour. I swore she could have assaulted someone that day. It was pure rage. This woman was just paranoid and it was what made her so insecure and such an angry person. My boss complained to her boss about it. He came to see her over the weekend as the state of the office was in a total mess. A physical fight ensued between the two of them to where the police and the mental hospital ambulance were contacted and arrived. They sent her son to stay with his older brother. From how I look at it the situation was handled badly from the start. She should have never gotten that job out of sympathy. She should have been on public assistance where she could get help and not have so much pressure being a single parent to provide for a minor which I think was the major cause of her last episode. It's like the issue of mental health is always handled with kid gloves or people walk on eggshells around it while the person afflicted suffers and goes in a downward spiral. I know a family who adopted children whose mother is diagnosed as bi polar. When she has a manic episode she never remembers what she did. That's when she gets dangerous. The next thing she knows she's in the mental hospital lying on a bed. She'd be there for more than a week and not realise. She's a really nice person when you talk to her as I've done so a few times. She once was in a relationship with a man for 6 months and she was scared to tell him about her mental health status. Unfortunately someone found out about her diagnosis and told him and he basically assaulted her. After that she ended up in the institution again not remembering how she got there. I've never experienced any of her episodes but because I'm scared to do so I'm not that eager to be in her presence for long. I'd like to see more done for her to help her but the situation is it seems like the society is fine with things the way they are. So I am asking what can be done for people who suffer mental illness and lack a support system? Where do you start?

I can only give you my understanding. Psychosis tends to be more of a uncontrollable hallucinogenic state with a tendency towards anger. Being schizophrenic is less hallucinations usually and very rarely anger usually the opposite depression and emptyness. That's just as I know it.

You can’t treat something that isn’t physical with physical means...the mind isn’t made of Matter, it’s ain’t physical, it’s like the software of our body,, in my opinion the mind is our soul, or our spirit, and any mental issues is clearly spiritual. I have paranoid schizophrenia and it’s never like this , I find the spectrum of symptoms to be fascinating. My voices are almost indistinguishable from my own thoughts and the thoughts are always laced in paranoia. I have a very high iQ so that offsets alot of symptoms but one very prevalent symptom is the shadows. Weird disease in every aspect but I wouldn’t change who I am for nothing.
I had a patient with schizophrenia ask me once if the voices he heard were in his head. And I told him yes. If he asked me it must be because he knows that's an option right? So he should be able to separate them from reality? Or not?
Amelia Díaz Cortez I wouldn’t be able to to tell you , there have been times when a thought is so external from my own line of thinking it can seem like it isn’t “mines” but never to a degree where it sounds like it’s not in my own head if that makes sense. Are you a Psychology Major of some sort ?
Amelia Díaz Cortez it does for numerous reasons , none I’m qualified to explain but I’m sure you’ll have your answers experiencing the varieties of mental health problems first hand through out the spectrum of intelligence. Now in my opinion I think it could be because of a greater understanding of oneself and perception of reality.
I haven't been diagnosed with schizophrenia, but I have my suspicions. I was diagnosed with ADHD in 2019, but I'm sure the diagnosis was wrong. I've been hearing voices and intrusive thoughts for a long time now. Schizophrenia also runs in my family. My Uncle had it, and also my cousin (who died in unfortunate circumstances recently). It's been a tough time, I don't know what to do because I'm not getting proper help. I kinda feel lost.
Sorry bout your loss ur not alone iv have both adhd and schizophrenia most my life I really know how you are feeling little lost it's hard to ask for help but you can go to you doctor first they maybe will give u medz or Google search sumat like mental health call there r people you can ring and only talk to them first they may help u understand more about ur experiences I get you OK I know myself how hard day to day life is like this u need to understand it more get information u will find
Happy u have a supportive partner...my nephew is schizophrenic and it is hell to get him to take his meds ...and it becomes a nightmare to live with him ...outside of that he is a most loving person ...best wishes to u

I had a similar diagnosis. I was diagnosed schizoaffective originally in the beginning, but they later changed my diagnosis to uncategorized schizophrenia. It's a struggle every day. I always feel like there is no one I can trust, and that I am constantly in danger of my life falling apart. Everyone thinks my symptomatic tendencies are so annoying , and I don't have anyone to protect me. I am victimized by most of the people that I meet. I hope she keeps getting treatment, and her she can manage her symptoms when they become in remissal. Disability helps me very much as I go to school and work a part time job. I used to be homeless for a couple of years in my life, and that will mess with you pretty bad. Just stay on your meds and keep getting treatment.
I have schizophrenia myself. Schizophrenia is a mental illness that people, your people, give you, because at the time you're a flawed individual. And through the process of having schizophrenia you can overcome your flaws. Whether your flaws are so bad, that schizophrenia is the right decision is the question or you could have overcame your flaws through psychologist or have outgrown them. Because there's also doubt that you'll ever overcome your flaws and even if you do, you'll be left with an illness of mind and will never be fully normal. What normal in this case means is that you will see other people just like they can see you. In the mind I mean. Because you know, everyone's psychotic they just don't tell you till you figure it out and even then they won't tell you. And you may have symptoms of thought disorder, like myself. And there's also lost time, lost life experiences, no doubt your life will take a different path with schizohrenia. For example you'll most likely be very lonely, very isolated, won't finish college or hold down a job for long. Schizophrenia is more a curse than a blessing. And it comes from the people, your people. If you have schizophrenia I wish you nothing but the best, cause I know first hand what's it like.
Your people didn't do this to you.you did this to your self because your not born with it.it was always there.Its alright to be scared of the unknown but it's more about how much of a strong minded person you are because i have it to and i never took medication for it.i smoked marijuana which only makes it worse but it's been like this for so long that it's not even scary anymore it's just fucking annoying.

Oh fuck I can relate, resperione was the only drug to stop the voices it's weird because you hear them shouting though the wall's but it's just you that can hear it, I still get whispers of the voices but I can drown them out with a good tune and a pencil in hand, our art is good.
I spoke to another person online that had the same problem, did two places of your stomach drain out of fluid (almost like pee)? It causes an chemical imbalance in your head causing you to hear voices and see things. It can be reversed by filling it up with pee again. Sit down and fill them up again with pee, it will take an hour or two. Keep going until they are full and your problems should STOP!
Yes, I agree with you. I am very lonely because “normal” people think I am crazy and ignore me. I have had this illness for 40 years and it has been awful. I feel that it is really obvious that I have this problem when I go out and feel that everyone is looking at me and thinking she’s a freak and because of that I am afraid to leave my house.
