I actually wonder how long they plan to keep House of Eternal Return as is. They have learned a lot from building Omega Mart and now Convergence Station (And their future installation in Los Angeles too) such as having wider walkways to allow for higher guest throughput or an emphasis on electronic interaction and frequent roaming actors. I love House of Eternal Return and it IS the original, but a lot has been learnt from these new experiences.

@@TheOnlyBongo I mean, they have made some small changes to the House since it’s opening. The main one, to my knowledge, being the addition of the Obsidiopolis room.

I like house of eternal return just because you’re left alone and able to explore freely. When employees are everywhere it feels like I’m being hovered over.

@@Ericasentertainments yeah, but also it’d be weird to have a supermarket without employees or a city without residents

i imagine there arent many actors around the house cause it doesnt completely fit in with its storyline, but there ARE actors, specifically the Charter agents (the people in labcoats) who ive seen people walk up to and talk to. it makes more sense for the house since its been quarantined and confiscated, meanwhile omega mart is an active store that has employees and convergence is whole societal areas.

I work at Convergence Station and didn't know about the prairie dog room until I saw this video, if that gives you any idea at how many details there are 😂

I was there for over three hours the day after Christmas… I don’t think I got half of everything that you can just see. The card scanning system was offline due to a “memory storm” (i.e. either cuz of Omicron or technical issues) so I didn’t even get any of the story behind it. There’s so much to look at and honestly I foresee myself going multiple times to catch it all. Thankfully my parents live there, so I have a good excuse to 🥳

Its more for safety of you and your camera. But the other point of it is also so that you enjoy what you're seeing and don't just focus on taking video.

While they’re at it they might as well ban phones too... I have tickets to attend this Sunday I just received an email with all of the stipulations and things not allowed on top of professional cameras...no purses or bags larger than 8“ x 8“ No Vape pens, gum ,cameras ,strollers umbrellas,selfie sticks etc etc... And regardless of vaccination status you must wear a mask and...the mask cannot be a bandanna or contain a valve...etc etc. so yeah might as well add phones to that list too I’m soo looking forward to going now 🙄

So, I went with a small camera, and my experience showed me that there might be more to the "no big cameras" rule. I went with the full intention of documenting everything I could to come back to and translate later, and I spent the first 5-10 minutes documenting everything within the first 5 feet of the c-street entrance. There was just TOO MUCH to document effectively without A) blocking traffic, B) monopolizing a particular piece (like the books and tablets), or C) slowing your own progression to a snails pace. As an artistic collective, it makes sense that they'd set rules in place to direct people towards the experience they want you to have. Clearly, they wanted us to get lost, talk with the "locals" and get personally engaged. They're not going to get mad over a few pictures, but if you're actively messing up other people's experience, that's the line they draw.

@@Ericasentertainments actually, they encourage phones. There are several interactions that are specifically built around phone usage and phone cameras. Plus, the QDoT cards have a QR code on them so you can access the mems you collect on your trip when you get home! The bag restrictions are mostly to force you to think critically about what you're bringing in, and I should mention it's insanely easy to put something down and forget about it here because you get distracted by every square inch. Better to lose a small bag with a handful of stuff than a large bag with your entire life in it.

@@WillMcShane yeah very true, and the vape/cig ban is just for the enjoyment of all the non-smokers, and to protect from fire hazards

They’re good at their job, but that would annoy me. I like to enjoy art on my own, without forced interaction with people.

Elich's sucks since they move from the original location of 38th and Tennyson

I worked at Elitch Gardens for a few days, right across from that ride actually. I didn't get to ride it but knowing it's in relation to these amazing attractions I must go on it.

Colorado Native here too. Colorado had changed and not for the better. Filth has overrun our state and Denver especially.

yes, every meow wolf installation is connected through an overarching universe, specifically connected through the concepts of the Charter, the Anomaly and the Multiverse, which came from the original installation, and now 2 installations have featured CS's company, QDOT. i dont know much about OM and CS's plot but i know its hinted at in OM that "the source" is actually another term for the Anomaly, or something that came from the Anomaly. if you want to get into the universe its imperitive to start with the house of eternal return to understand these concepts!
