Congrats. 🎉 In answer to your question, you did the same thing for dd7 that you did for dd6. Iirc, you were spending gold leveling the lower part of your roster of characters that you use instead of focusing on buying gear from the supply store from day 1. And no, you aren’t really that late unlocking Mephisto. It was literally within weeks of most of the other cc’s who unlocked him slightly before you. It probably only “feels” late because of your mmr in cc and war; as well as ppl in your alliance who possibly spent more to unlock him sooner.
In DD vahl is way better than eternals. He ability blk primary and adjacent toons and his ult brings back two toons and severely damage the whole other squad. Plus his basic adds expose and when u keep hitting it he gain energy and speed.
The thought becomes Vahl is mystic and mystic is a huge bottleneck and we're heading towards new mystic replacing bitfrost. Not saying Vahl isn't great but instead of 3 mystic you can get away with 2 being the eternals. Really just a choice.

I initially took Doom, then after my first day, brought up dorm! I was worried about his mystic cost, but you get so much gear for finishing DD7, I was immediately able to take Mephisto to G19 anyways
