I could really use some help. Can a used w164 eis be adapted to another vehicle? Both original and used replacement have working keys. My autel IM608 has eis replacement functions I’m just not sure which order to execute them in. Is it as easy as read original, erase replacement, then write? There’s also “backup coding, write coding, activate”. Also which key will work once written? I would really appreciate some direction.
It is as easy as you say... read the original and get the key password, then save that data.. Read the coding and save that... Read the new/used EIS and get the key password, I do this even though you only need the service password... Virginize the new/used EIS, then personalize with the data file you saved from the original EIS... then activate it, then write the coding you saved from the original... Any keys you have for the car should work as long as the original EIS didn't screw up the data in them.. You may have to leave the key in the ignition for 30 minutes to sync the data between the EIS and the key, but thats all there is too it.. Just remember, the key hash's are the same in all the DAS modules, EIS, ME, TCM, ISM, the EIS is the only module that has the key password and the SSID... So, believe it or not, if you have a defective EIS, read the key hash's from one of the other modules, then save, then virginize an EIS, write the data to the EIS, the program will ask you for an SSID which you can either get from an old key or the cluster bin file, then either use the old key password from the new/used EIS or make your own... JUST REMEMBER, if you do this, no dealer key will ever work on that EIS... because it has a different password... Good luck...
@@timtracy9442 Thank you so much for your help. I finally was able to work on this vehicle again yesterday. Did exactly what you said and it fired right up with the original key. I was even able to add a second key. The im608 did ask me for the replacement key password and special password for the replacement eis. Then it automatically calculated the erase password. I can’t thank you enough. Do you have a patreon or PayPal so I can contribute to the channel?
@@escoto88 Glad I could help... Appreciate the offer, but I mainly do these videos because there wasn't much info about this stuff when I started out, and now I can't remember what I did yesterday, so these vids make it easy to remind myself.....
ok just another question if its ok tim , i can see that you can read the eis from obd with abrites on bench , like i had the same connection on bench but it kept saying cannot establish connection with the unit do you know why ? is it cuz i havent connected the esl ? or it doesnt matter to have it with the connection to read cuz i cant see you having or connecting one please advise
most EZS modules... here is a link to the cables.. most except for w210.. www.abritesusa.com/product/CB011-ABRITES-Mercedes-Benz-cable-set-for-EZS-7G-Tronic-and-ISMDSM and for most EZS's and the 210's www.lacartech.com/collections/mbe-engineering-1/products/eis-esl-testing-tool
@@timtracy9442 thank you for your reply tim. i bougth vvdi moe cables but i have no connectio with the ezs with avdi..have you ever tried vvdi cables with avdi diagnostic?
no, I haven't... Because I haven't been able to find an aftermarket keyless go key... When I was talking to an engineer from Poland, he explained there are 14 different types of keyless go keys, so the aftermarket has been shy to make them... I have taken the NEC chips off of ver 62 and ver 68 non working keyless go keys and soldered them onto same version keys I have gotten and had them work, but programming a keyless go key is something I haven't done.... I see where a couple of chinese programmers do it, but where do you get the key...
A lot of money.... I got it before they changed the packages and lowered prices... Is it worth it?? Yes, it has done many things that no other programmer can do.. The VAG program is absolutely the best out there.. I use it along with ODIS pretty much every day.. As for Roll the dice locksmithing, I try and stack the deck in my favor... lately I have been doing more programming than locksmithing.. and since they changed ODIS to not work with used clusters, I am in pretty high demand..
@@timtracy9442 i have been locksmith for 16 years now i own my company. looking for another eeprom programer. i remember when the mvp pro was the top dog. thanks for your time
The only way I know to do the W210 is to open the EIS and remove the HC05 chip and read it, then run that data thru AVDI... There is supposedly a way to make a wiring harness, and do it on the bench, but I haven't tried it...
ARGH.... I looked at the adapter set... it was right in front of my face.... But what do you do if you don't have VVDI prog, and the adapters??? Sometimes it is fun to try different ways to get the info... I used to think there was a right way and a wrong way, the older I get, the more I realize there are alot off different ways to get to the same place, we to try as many as we can...
Tim Tracy this the easiest way to do that particular eis. They have allot of adapters for eis. I wish they had one for w210 eis. Maybe sometimes i can call you to talk about it.
