We became a small business owners when (Ed) moved from Colombia to the USA to be with his husband (Ben) and had the opportunity to work in anything. Ben encouraged Ed to follow his passion for European design home decor. Ben challenged Ed to see if he could generate a passion into a career.
We name our store Before Treasures because we believe in love and kindness before anything else. PEOPLE BEFORE TREASURES
We receive all kinds of positive messages from customers about what the pieces of home decor have meant to them. Whether it is an art piece, figurine, sculpture or vintage vase, there is history and a story behind every piece. It is an emotional business. Before Treasures has allowed us to expand our passion all around world.
Even though we just opened up my store in December 2021 we am grateful to say we are able to make this a full-time career and can’t wait to make daily investments of our time, energy and passion in making our store a top rated one.

I have 1,400 listings and sell an average of 10 a week. It is not sustainable for a living alone but it part of our strategy for sales across different platforms. There is a unique buyer group that shops Mercari. We used this website to auto copy and delist our products. We can post on eBay it automatically gets listed everywhere else including Mercari so not extra work to manage these cross listing. Highly recommend. www.exportyourstore.com?fpr=beforetreasures

No fees for seller.... But for us Buyers the fees are way higher... in case you haven't noticed.... Every action has a reaction... Therefore the buyer is not going to want to buy, which the seller is going to have to bring the prices down(because there are no sales), which is going to make them wanna go back to the old platforms...

Why mercari request business owner SSN? Business EIN not good enough? Why eBay amazon walmart Etsy ok with EIN?

Great question. They are a smaller company, I might recommend emailing their support back and ask if you can just use the EIN.

Obvious you need to update this information since Mercari has made a lot of changes especially on returns and fees!!

Mercari does not protect sellers like eBay does when a "standard envelope" gets lost without a scan. Huge scam.

Mercari has covered lost or broken items as long as it was shown as scanned in the USPS and won cases in our favor. They do the work of submitting the claim and process. They released the money when it was approved. Hopefully they continue to improve their customer service. Just make sure to reach out them through their portal to get the best service from them.
