Mercedes 2014 ML 166 250 Reversing/Backup Light - Bulb Change 

This is being done on a 2014 ML 250 SE Bluetec Auto - pretty sure it's valid for other 166 models
The Owner Manual doesn't include the Reversing Light Bulb among those that the owner can change ... even the Mercedes Forum had some suggested weird ideas about prising off the Light cover !
There are some other videos but I couldn't find one on this particular model where the light is Tailgate mounted
This is how simple it is to do the job and save some money, well actually a lot of money ... total cost - the price of the Bulb

standard Bulb is a 291 Capless 15/16W ....
