Nice video Nick but losing the touchpad is definitley a step backwards. I use it all the time in my 2022 CLA, it's always just within the reach of my fingers instead of reaching my arm to the far end of the touchscreen.
Totally agree with the comments of the new centre console - for all the design know how and capability you would have though MB could have come up with something better it looks awful and ruins the look of the cockpit. The shallow tray type recess is useless as it’s not deep enough to hold anything without it falling out as soon as the car moves…it’s pointless and very much looks like an afterthought…..very disappointing
Great video as usual. Surprised they did away with the centre swipe control I use it all the time. Mild hybrid addition good. Wonder about the price increase…
@@thomaswalker1258 Not a chance it doesn't support it, as there is a touch based d-pad on the steering wheel that performs the exact same function minus the drawing of letters to type.
Hi Nick, Thank you for the update. I get more information from you than my local Mercedes dealer. The folks at the dealership make me feel like my 2020 GLB is not worth their time. I think the car is great. Good looking and a pleasure to drive. I think I'm going to a different dealer even though it's a much longer drive for me.

just had my '24 plate A250e saloon delivered in Mountain Grey. I had a demo from MB for 14 days and put my order in on day 2... 🙂 Absolutely love it. punchy and in Hybrid I'm getting 143 MPG Great entry level Merc that looks good and performs well for the distances I do for work.

And thanks to your tips and tricks video, I don't think I'll miss the touchpad that I only used for the "next track" function that much. (I'm going to use voice command instead, I tried it on the GLA 200, it works fine)
Nice video, but losing the touchpad seems like a downgrade in my opinion. Especially when the middle storage doesn't even come with wireless charging as standard.
The new A class has arrived in Australia. The base model is the A200 with standard AMG lime, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting and keyless go across the range.

Noel 👏🏼 I hope you will not have this problem, so I got with the previous mode W177 A class premium plus! Loads of noise from plastics and been hundred times in Mercedes and they never fix it still have the noise😡 But like I mansion before comment Mercedes Manchester(Stockport and Macclesfield) They don’t have clue what they’re doing in service even wars Mercedes Maccesfilde twice on my service, damaged the car instead of repair, and that was simple job change the oil and the diesel filter😤😡 I hope you got more luck so I with this car…🤞🏼 I need to change the colour now, but I don’t know if I will buy another Mercedes… 😔

Hi Nick, I don't suppose you know the official ground clearance figure of the new (& previous) AMG-A35? The dimensions in the brochure don't include ground clearance. I've searched online and I can see figures ranging from 160mm down to 111mm. I think the former is the standard A Class and the latter might be the A35. I have a 2019 model and i've grounded on two speed bumps now (at crawling speed, it's a horrible noise and I fear doing costly damage). It's become a serious consideration as i'm looking to upgrade now. Great informative videos by the way.
Thank you! Glad you enjoy them! Really sorry no I don’t know. I’ve only got access to Mercedes eBrochures and media info to help me produce the videos but there’s no mention of ground clearance. I’d imagine AMG vehicles (non SUV’s incl) are probably lower to the ground than other models. I guess it just depends on also how high speed bumps are too, even though they can be very annoying!
Hi Nick great video illustrating the new features of the new A class. For your next forthcoming review could you do a review of the new A35 prem plus vs the previous A35 prem+ as it would be great to know what the key difference are and if it’s worth upgrading to the facelift model.

Hi Nick I have a Mercedes GLA and I’m a little disappointed the two front tires seem to have gone bald it’s not quite two years old yet there’s only 22 km on the clock I haven’t been anywhere very rough for hard road am I entitled to any comeback from Mercedes I don’t think the tires have one very well I’ll be delighted if you could give me some help I really enjoyed listening to your thing is quite enjoyable
Hey Alice, tyre wear can vary massively. It depends on your load in the car, the brand of tyre, how much you use it and how fast the car accelerates and things like tyre pressures. Generally speaking premium branded tyres stick to the road better and have awesome stopping distances where as budget tyres might not be as sticky and therefore might not also stop as fast in an emergency.

Hey Darren, I wasn’t planning on releasing a video with specific specs in mind as it wouldn’t appeal to everyone worldwide (it varies massively) From what I’ve heard the Launch edition has a lot of spec and gadgets so if you like tech in a car, this is definitely one to go for!

Hi Nick. Can you add Adaptive Cruise Control to the saloon model ? I think it used to be part of the Driving Assistance Package and it was only available on the Premium Plus Model, but can’t see it as an option anymore ?

It is very difficult to spec the Driving Assistance Package because there is a shortage and Mercedes prefer to keep what they have for the bigger models. With so many average speed cameras in the UK I won’t order a new car without it. I have an A35 coming in less than 3 weeks and the package is available for it but you have to spec the Premium Plus package before it becomes an option. I’m not sure about the non-AMG models though. Just go on the online configuration to find out. Merc warned that the Driving Assistance Package could delay delivery by up to 9 months but in the end it has only been under 3 months since I insisted on having it.
Took delivery of one 2 weeks ago been rejected and going back today, bad sealing around wheel arch just been sprayed over. Don’t know how it got through quality control

Now that there's a MBUX version that does full screen Carplay/Android Auto, Mercedes should release a revised version of MBUX for the previous A class and B Class cars with the 10.25" screens. That would really make current owners feel valued.
@@pb4915 if MBUX 7 uses Nvidia chips and the Linux operating system then there's no reason why MBUX 6 can't use the whole display. All the hard work is being done on the phone, it just needs to run the display
If you customise your driver screen dials, you don't want the "upgrade"! I went from an A Class to a C with the new system and I was very annoyed to find out you could no longer customise the dials/Speedo area.
@@valterbastos4643 You can change the themes exactly as Nick does in this video, the instrument cluster system looks the exact same. However on the "Classic" mode you can no longer customise the dials/speedo circles. If you see at 11:18 in the video, the middle part is the only thing you can now change, whereas in the previous version (that the W177 and W213 had) you could change the dials on the side to be various things, such as your media, navigation, consumption info, etc.

I have a facelift A35 due for delivery later this month and wonder if CarPlay is now wireless on NTG7. I know it is on the bigger models with portrait screens but cannot find any info on this car.
Absolutely! Completely different unit on the inside. I think I remember seeing the specs on the Media announcement somewhere of the new RAM, processor and graphics etc

Hey Nurani, DAB back in 2017 it wasn’t standard equipment but I have seen people retrofit it to cars using 3rd party add ons Alternatively, you could utilise TuneIn Radio from your phone (this is the easiest method by far). You just might need a slightly higher data plan on your phone if you listen to a lot 👍🏼
Does anyone know if in this new FL you have to turn off the Speed Warning every time you enter and start the car? I have the A200d where I just enter and drive. No annoying speed warnings to turn off.

@LencoTB oh I see the 2023 ones won’t have it (very unlikely, mine’s 2023 😜) But the car hasn’t changed since last year apart from a couple of spec changes etc (and the speed thing)
So I have a 2020 35 amg and when I put the nav in the center section of my gauges I don’t have the option to go full screen. I know the 2020 45 amg does it because I’ve seen a video, I’m assuming it wasn’t an option for the 2020 35 amg? Or am I missing something lol.
I believe you need the additional front cameras and a particular package to get the entire display to show the map. It's just a random software limitation.
HI Nick since 2.months i have the mercedes A250e pre facelift. But i hear lots of issues once the car reached the 50k km that they needed to swap the motor etc. Any idea or is this just like other cars?
Ah you can do it on the steering wheel by swiping down and keeping the media part on the screen Then just swipe left or right Or Use the screen on the left and swipe up from the bottom of the screen to bring the media controls up

Do you know are 360 park sensor required to have front parking camera? Because I have only standard parking system (camera, and auto parking) but no 360, however i still got the camera on the front window for navigation augmented reality. So I wonder which camera front parking use if not this one.
Ah 360° camera would add an extra camera to the front above the star. Wish I had that on mine too but I’ve got a reversing camera. Augmented Reality is just for the Sat Nav and/or Dashcam on the Mercedes me store.
Just my thought on the silly decision of Mercedes on the last gen A class. Technically it’s very hard to buy the 7 inches screen model. Any additional option you want will require the Premium Package while Premium Package will give you 10 inches screen. Especially in Canada, there is no showroom in BC having the absolutely base model. I know Mercedes wants to make 2 tier for the screen so firstly they can promote the sell on more expensive option and secondly advertising a very low starting price for the A class. I swear less than 10% of people buying the A class having the 7 inches. So why don’t just go with the only 1 screen size and make the starting price with the Premium Package so 90% people will be happy and the rest 10% people just need to work hard for a few more month and buy the A class. No need to wait for the NTG 7 chip if the NTG 6 supports only 1 screen size 10.25 inches at the beginning. This is the real example of making a problem then sell the solution and I don’t like that
The A class is actually a Renault/Nissan platform, so not a real Merc. They even use Renault engines (except in the proper AMGs). Save some cash and just buy the Nissan or Renault equivalent.
Don’t worry I’ve heard this many times before but rest assured the entry level engines in the compact car range are not just "Renault engines", Mercedes and Renault have combined their efforts together to produce a very highly economical, low emission and powerful engine. One of Mercedes-Benz's best sellers at the moment! Mercedes also put their own tech and spin into it and designed Formula One technology such as Nanoslide and even cylinder shut-off called CAMTRONIC allowing the cylinders to go down to 2! None of this is found in the Renault’s engines so no, they are definitely not the same at all. Even the new engines feature mild hybrid technology which also is not found on Renault models. Hope that answers your question!
@@npoleary That is software managed stuff, it doesn't mean the engine is different. It's all built on the same platform used in the ever terrible Nissan Juke. Same with the GLA class. The real Mercs start with the next model up.
Not even the front look is better. I prefer the checkmark/tick design of headlights. Only the mercedes star grille is nice but I could just buy an aftermarket one for my 2019 A Class.
USB c ports in the back of an a class sport... the mercedes c class amg premium didn't... only 1 in the while car, pretty rubbish and poor from mercedes.
