May I suggest that you guys but a decibel meter and drive showing us how much noise there is? Also, I miss a good handling test like with a slalom and measuring how long it takes the car to stop and things like that. Thanks.
This is a perfect case where personal preference makes or breaks the car. I prefer the 'cleaner' less flashy interior of the Audi. The material feel of the Mercedes is better is some cases, but then the way things are put together isn't the same as they are in the Audi. I got used to the assistance system usage in the Audi pretty quick, same for the Mercedes. Infotainment, especially navigation, I prefer the Audi.
The A3 simply does not feel good enough in terms of interior quality to justify its price. The previous generation A3 (from 2012 to 2020) had a much higher quality interior with better materials and better fit and finish. I don't understand why Audi has stepped down from its leadership position, particularly as Korean (and now also Chinese) cars have more and more premium interiors with every new model year.
Great comparison review. I feel the premium cars of today need to up their game as all the gizmos and technology can be found now in most newish mainstream cars. My own thoughts are that manufactured cars from Japan are taking the lead both in design, futuristic tech and renown reliability.
I found the actual build quality of the A class isn’t a patch on the A3, while some materials are plusher in the Merc, the fit and finish was awful in places. It’s rather noisy and uncomfortable compared to the A3 on the move.
@@jackpearson3228well, have you noticed that in a 20 minutes review the average RU-vidr spends like 12 minutes speaking about screens, 3 about looks, 4 about extras and if you get lucky, he drives it a bit in the time they have left. Some reviews even feel like if they were written without the person even being inside the car, almost as if the person just looked at it online.
100% can confirm this, I've had 11 warranty claims over 4 garage visits for my 2020 A-Class regarding interior quality. Parts have come loose, rattling door, dashboard, seatbelt clip, paneling etc. They don't use metal screws and glue anymore, they only use plastic clips to hold the interior together due to cost cutting.
As an owner of a new A3 I'm surprised you didn't mention the side assist option on the press car (blind spot warning system - lights on the mirrors). For me, one of the must have options. Once drove on a misty rainy night on a highway and was really glad the side assist warned me about a high speeding vehicle coming up and passing me by surprise which I didn't notice in the mirrors at all when I wanted to switch lane.
Don’t get why people care about fine materials in places where you‘d never touch your car. Like the top of the dash or bottom third of the door. As the manufacturer i‘d ask myself, why waste money? The dash has to look nice. It doesn’t have to feel nice. I‘m starting to think y’all judge a cars quality on how well it is at being a piece of furniture instead of a car 😅 of course buttons and storage spaces, generally things you interact with are another story
I've owned both, the A class is much better in terms of quality fit and feel. It's also more modern in my opinion. I've had my new mercedes less than 1 month so time will tell
I’ve checked both of these and found the Audi full of plastic. The Merc interior is far superior and feels more value for money. The glass roof is a must have. What was not tested was the “digital assistant”. I don’t know the Audi one but the Mercedes assistant is incredible. Natural language and understands simple commands plus integrates well with the iPhone

Even my old Golf 5 GT sport tsi with only 140 HP seems much much faster than both of these two. Do you really have to scale up to RS or GTI versions to get any kind of excitement today? It really seems everything is about tech which does not interest me at all when it comes to cars
I think he was in Confort where the car accelerates fast without throwing you around. Quite good if having small children since they won’t throw up. He should have tested in Dynamic
wtf im from germany, heidelberg watching the video, he sais "what a bout this cool shooting location" and after the second look i realize its heidelberg haha
Does anyone know if in this new FL you have to turn off the Speed Warning every time you enter and start the car? I have the A200d where I just enter and drive. No annoying speed warnings to turn off.
i don't think is 4 second the clutch retarding but just 1 but the way audi dsg is faster but considering that it keep broking and broking and stard driving in rough attaching clutch meccatronic broke every 80kkm and cost more than 2000 euro so much better mercedes gear that is mercedes made and perfect.
The previous Gen A3 had better interior build and material quality. I was very disappointed with the materials used in the new A3. However, it is at least solid. The A Class on the other hand feels like it was put together with liquid glue. So flimsy and cheaply.
Well, that led ambient lighting on the Audi is something I would have paid for and would thought it would look awesome but after watching your video, it just looks rubbish. Like something you would get in a tricked out 1996 Honda Civic, owned by a 40yo that still works at a McDonald's, flipping burgers. Edit: and just to clarify, i would get the Audi, just without the smbient light. I reslly dislike the Mercedes interior. Not good
Did we run the same car? Class A is noisier and squeaky car. Audi feel super solid in comparison. On a more personal note, ergonomic / seat are better in audi.
I would go with the A3 even if it was worse, just cause the Mercedes interiour looks really really bad. One of the worst designs I have seen from them.
dont care about spec and fancy stuff. what drives better? faster? what handles better? just be straight forwards you car reviewers all the same its a joke. i mean i look on the website to see what the car comes with. what i cant do is drive them or sit and test what seats are more comfortable so i have to rely on you guys and the feedback is pathetic 😂
Very biased and poor review. Some of the Audi functions that are actually great (e.g. physical button for lane keep assist etc ) are unnecessarily criticized. It's completely nonsense in my opinion.
This is the first time I commented with using the word "nonsense" for an aspect in your reviews. I totally love them and find them objective. You do the most detailed reviews IMO. But this one didn't seem so to me.That's also purely my personal opinion on this singular case. Please don't consider it as my general opinion. Moreover, this physical button thing in cars is globally appreciated by a big majority of people all around the world (based on forums, RU-vid, reviews etc.)
