its a good car if you want performance and not terrible MPG i have an M550i 2018… that 4.4 V8 is amazing but 12L per 100 km is too much, might get one of these
I own one. In comfort mode it drives smoothly and is incredibly refined. Only issue in that regard are the large tires that create some road noise. In sports Plus mode it comes to life and is exciting.

I just picked up my E43 last week. I got the wood trim (great decision). The car is AMAZING. I just have the regular Burmester and it sounds fantastic. Is it an E63? No. Does it sound like an E63? No. To get that sound you just have to pay 30k more (which I'll probably do in 3 years). I'm gonna pick up an AMG GT next year, so that'll be my full AMG. I really just wanted an E class with a proper engine, which this is. The interior is gorgeous, and the massage seats actually work really well. Everyone I know is jealous and people stare and stare often. I couldn't be happier with this car.
little confusing with the suspension: So the information on location was Dynamic Ride Control, but price lists suggests that you have the AMG suspension which is based on the Air Body Control (air susp.). Not sure if the cars on location were equipped differently or if the info was wrong. One thing is for sure though, that no matter which suspension you pick with the e-class, they are all extremely good.
This E43 not only beats (fr)Audi and BMW. It beats Jaguars all the way! The interior materials and total quality are so much better and classier! Better than an XJ, faster than an XF and even the F-type 400. Smoother driving with lesser rattles and with a 10 times higher reliability than a Jag. After 10 years of "trying" to believe in a Jaguar Leaper, I must admit: "The Best or Nothing" is not only commercial statement...Love this car and very proud to have one! Just picked up a 2018 E43 AMG sedan. I have to say Thomas, you played a huge part in me choosing this car. Your review is as always: professional, deep, fun, and objective. Like you mentioned, at first glance, the rear lights give the impression of being a turnoff, especially compared to the rest of the exterior... However I have come to love them, especially at night when that stardust effect makes the car look super kick-ass.
great review Thomas! tired of reviewers/youtubers that only go for distractions/jokes or only talk about what is written in the manual. and your German style of not losing to your emotions makes this reviews very peculiar. got to concede that Germans know their stuff :). we need critical reviews, with pros and cons of each model and their optionals, and comparison to other equivalent brands.

Hi Thomas...I placed my order in September 2016 and I took delivery of my E43 yesterday! I appreciate the in depth reviews of the E Class which truly helped me with which options to choose. Premium 3, Premium sound, Pano roof, Insulation package, 20" wheels with Pirelli rubber just to name a few. You were right about the options adding up fast! The MSRP was 89k USD but I don't mind as it's the best E Class I have ever owned (2007, 2009, 2012, 2014). Thank you and keep up the awesome work!!!
@@videoMYcar Quite bad except for when I cruise in the freeway. I get around 13 to 13 mpg on side roads and 27 mpg on freeway cruises. To be fair part of that is because I drive in sport mode with manual paddle shifting. I definitely get a lot less mpg than my previous car, a BMW 430i.
@@JonnyBeoulvei drive an ML63 right now and really need to downsize… the 63 engines are no joke, but i also get 13-14, and i always use the paddles… and i have a 5.5 L v8, you have a V6 yet same fuel economy?

Wow! Thomas you have the best job in the world. :D I like the balance between extra comfort on the standard car, and full sporty witch E63 will probably be. Also the discrete details, like stitching, spoilers. Very, very nice upgrade. Sound is very good but i would like more of that AMG tone. To search faults would be just nitpicking. This car is simply in one word perfect.

Great scenery, lovely ambient lighting, very good camera angle through the windscreen with very good view of instruments and road ahead... E43 or E400 - what a great choice to have if you had the money. Well done with such a superb Review.
Thinking of buying an E43 and have to say this is one of the best reviews I have seen so far. As usual if you want something doen well then ask a German to do it!! Precise, informative, detailed, this man knows how to review a car unlike some of the other reviewers on here

Just I am looking to change car towards September and don't like the A35 and want the new CLA45 but that's not due for around another two years probably!! Your opinion would be gratefully received, along with any suggestions.

Great to see several accelerations and pass by accelerations. Every review should have it. The camera attached to your window could be without waterproof case, for even better video clearity.
At least in my region the E43 will be the same price as the S6, think I'd rather have the S6. Although that interior and tech is very nice on the E-Class.

Wonderful and amazing car as far as the specifications, interior and exterior except for the area where the interior edge of the bonnet cover meets the front grille above the lights.

Tomas , is air suspention of e43 is good? is it comfortable enough? as i am driving c63S and my family complaining that it is too stiff. so thinking to change for e43... but the good thing is in th UK it comes with air suspension only.... so hope it will be more cofortable ... i guess u really liked this car, does it feel havy with that engine? thank you
This car is a great balance of power, Luxury, Ride, and last but not least, it's a Benz, replaces my CLS 550, 2019 CLS is a hybrid, not for me, S550, 117,000, also not for me, this is where I am, I didn't need a AMG, this is my family weekend car, I have 1 kid, plenty of room, not driving a Beemer, rides like a truck, Jaguar sucks, Audi A7 nice, 345 hp, non S and body update this year, new car is old, I drove this E43, it's absolutely beautiful and fast, 396 HP, I'm not going racing, just on the LIE, or the Garden state, to shore points, sometimes middle of the night no traffic, I've owned 3 Benzs, loved them all, they were all 550s, no more 550 unless S class, so here I am, it arrives mid June, 83,000, no distronic, no self park, ridiculous unneeded garbage, got Panoramic roof Diamond white, sound deadner, P2 rear heated seats, and extra side bags in the rear, it rides beautifully with the air suspension and 19s, only thing I'm miserable about is the run flats, still better than a Beemer

I am driving a Peugeot 208 92 ehdi. My average fuel consumption is about 4.3 liters per 100 kilometers. About 20 % above the figure from Peugeot. I drive 20000 kilometers a year. 30 % in the city, 80 % motor way, 10 % German Autobahn. There I go not more than 130 kilometers per hour. I am 1.86 meters tall like you. What car would you recommend me? The VW up! tsi, the Peugeot 208 110 hp or the Citroen C3 with the same engine? Could you maybe do some tests, in which you compare cars like the above mentioned? First to the practical reasons: 1. animal skin seats get hot in summer and you stick to the seat 2. they are cold in winter 3. on cloth or microfibre, you basically don’t need seat heating nor cooling 4. animal skin seats wear out very fast and look like granny’s old sofa Now to the environmental reasons: 1. There are productions where the cow is killed for the skin first, sometimes even alive, the skin is the most profitable part of the body. 2. Even if a cow gets killed for meat first, you give additional money to an industry that relies on murder, pollutes the environment and harms people with chemicals 3. Does it really matter for which cause a mammal, that is 99 % genetically identical with us, gets killed? 4. To the often said argument, animal skin would just be a byproduct, please google/youtube "leather is not a byproduct" you will find plenty of information.
