Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 vs Audi SQ7 Super SUVs w/ Tiff Needell 

Easy question... Audi or Mercedes-AMG? Comment below!

I have owned an SQ7 now for 6 months and I have to say it's a very easy car to live with. I get upwards of 35mpg on long trips and can hit 40mpg if driving at a steady 70mph. I bought it because I wanted a bit of fun combined with good mpg and being able to fit my 2 dogs in the boot. Ticks all of the above. I could not find a match to those 3 requirements on another SUV and especially at this price point. Great car.

Audi RS Q8 would eat the MB and be a fair test but I get the diesel comparison. Sucks that UK dealing with that. Both cars were amazing.

As nice and complete as the Audi is (its very good) I will still choose the Mercedes. It looks better, sounds better, has a nicer interior and I just like it more! Excellent video, as always!

I drive Audi and my misses a Merc. I reckon it’s easier to set the re entry control on a space ship than set the sat nav in a Merc! Tiff, if you don’t do modern tech and can’t even operate the rear wiper on an Audi how on earth do you deal with a Merc! Look at that central touch pad thing half covering a wheel which also depresses as well as moves lift, right, forward and backward. It’s the most complicated interior of any car I’ve ever driven, and that’s a lot by the way! That said the Merc engine is glorious. Final question, did I miss the MPG debate?

Tiff needs to reduce his medication if he thinks the archaic interior of that Merc is better than the Audi.

Sadly today almost every manufactorer ditches classy dials for "virtual cockpit tft things". Have never seen a graphic i liked on them. Still there is no tuner offering different graphics. The second thing: carbon trimm on cars with weights over 2 tons is ridiculous.

I've heard that the new Diesel engines are more environment friendly than the petrol ones.So why shouldn't buy a Diesel engined car? 😊

Is there seriously people w/ 80K worried about fuel economy? Sound, speed, response are better in the Merc so it must be the mpg LOL

If the sq7 anything like my regular 2017 Q7 I wouldn't touch it Anything under minus 4 degrees Celsius the windshield wipers get stuck to the windshield especially if there's a snowstorm and if there's any snow out the defog isn't strong enough to take the ice off the window it is beyond annoying so I don't care zero to 60 in whatever Quattro all-wheel drive doesn't mean anything if you can't see where you're going unless you want to take out your competition by smashing into the back of it I'm sure that will be very impressive to everyone watching another couple things don't get it with the rear RSEs which is the entertainment systems Audi advertises that they play from the onboard DVD player which they don't it's a $3,000 option to sit in the back seat and actually do nothing The lane assist if there's any snow on the ground will pull you into oncoming traffic because it thinks the snow is a line in the road if it's dry out the lane assist will pull you to one side of the road or the other which is kind of bizarre because nobody drives like that going from one side of the road to the other unless you're drunk so you would think it would keep you in the center of the road but it doesn't when I asked the dealer they said yeah they realize that too it's better just to shut it off now that made me feel good what's the point of paying for it then the navigation drives you in circles 50% of the time that makes you feel wonderful about your purchase when you're in a strange place trying to find a restaurant it really adds to the overall enjoyment of the evening you can't shut the air conditioner off you noticed this that there's a button but you can't press it on and off it's always on unless you shut the heat off and the air off I haven't driven it for a couple days but I'm sure I'll think of some other stuff and add to this later in other words stay clear of Audie it's beyond irritating by the GLE the new one different animal I have a 2012 F550 that I chipped goes from 0 to 100 km in under 4 seconds I'm guessing about 3.7 it's got 200,000 kilometers on it feels brand new it's my beater but it feels better than the Audi

I have an SQ7 and it is all that is mentioned here and does 0 to 60 in under 5 seconds, but can do 40mpg as well. The Merc can't match that economy.....

Everything about the GLE63 is superior. It looks better. It sounds better. It goes better. The interior might be older, but I like its aesthetic better.

Just bought this SQ7, test drove both cars. I like the MERC more but my wife like the SQ7 more and you know what they say happy wife happy life....

This could be something special. Tiff’s outdated complaining, bickering and attitude is really off-putting though. He’s a great motoring journalist and presenter. Sort out the nonsense and this could be one of the best car channels on YT.

Audi all day long, Mercedes is just plain ugly

I actually quite like these Audi SQ7s . I am not into Audis , don't know much about them , but recently discovered these by accident and they're growing on me. Some of the comments here people are saying you buy a vehicle like this to show off , etc. I DON'T THINK SO. I think the Audi is very understated. Just looks like a big estate car , (which I like) , It'ss not showy / flashy at all. The only thing I don't like on it is the shifter and that big console between the front seats. I wish they'd put the shifter on the column and left the floor clear in the front. I am still impressed though . Love the technology in this and would seriously consider one.

The Mercedes looks nicer, sounds better and goes faster, and has a nicer interior design IMO. The Audi, is cheaper and gives better MPG but also uglier, slower and an tech overload interior. If you can afford either car then who cares about a few extra MPG? I dont see the point of the SQ7, they should have put in the RS6 motor and be done with it.

SQ7 all the way. Common Merc. When are you going to update the interior and more importantly, the chasis for GLE? It's a too old platform.

A simple stage 1 remap brings the SQ7 up to 520 bhp & 750 lbft.....in a diesel! Absolutely bonkers!

If you are into cars like me, you would have seen all the reviews weeks, if not months, in advance. Yet, there is a certain charisma that Tiff exudes that makes these videos very enjoyable indeed. Keep up the good work.

I've had my GLE 400 for over a year and had no idea about the hook... Not sure what I'd need it for but you learn something new everyday I suppose.

We have a sq7, the performance and the sound you really have to experience in person. We’ve had s3 and still have a ra4 which we don’t drive it that much cos we enjoy the sq7 so much. My wife and I often ask each when was the time we fill up the sq7? Cos it’s so economical compare to our other cars. Full tank of diesel usually last us 2 weeks sometimes more the way we drive.

As an Audi fan, the GLE is fantastic car! The only thing I hate about it, is this cheap crappy plastic radio panel, placed in the centre of the dashboard....if only they have made it piano black, it would be 10/10

Well...one is for sure. You dont have to put additional spoiler on audi to make him looks like a minivan.
