Mercedes AMG GTC Review

Beautiful cinematography Roger. As always, your videos are loaded with well composed thoughts. That being said, I would like to respectfully disagree with your presupposition. Mercedes makes heavy, cushy cars with huge engines. This is a wholly formula from Porsche, except for the Panamera. Although it’s design is very different from the Panamera, I think the two cars are far closer than the AMG is to a 911.

While it's certainly a striking car and will definitely get the more looks if parked next to a 911, I'd still opt for a 911 Carrera S4 over this Mercedes beast. Especially if it was raining. Which, in Wales, it normally is 8-))... Not sure if it was me of the way it looked, but the centre console and other parts of the cabin looked looked... _Plasticy! 8-\\... Regardless. A very good and honest review Mr. Bailey. Some great videography. Especially from your _"wingman"_ flying over head 8-))... Your No1 Stalker 8-))... PS - I know, I'm sure, I've heard it before. I think...!? But who was the end music by? ;-))...

It definitely has presence and certainly sounds fantastic - far more interesting than the 911 - for a spirited drive though it looks like it would be a handful, more boxer than ballerina

I'd absolutely take one over a Porsche all day... the greater problem is that I'd probably take an LC500 over both. But seriously seeing a GTC or an LC500 in real life, on the road, always turns my head. If I see a 911, even a really nice one, I'm kinda over it. Sure, it'd be superior on a track, or in a race, but I'm probably not going to be doing either of those things.

its not meant to be a Porsche 911 type of car and thats confirmed from whats said here, it sounds like its a good drive though with decent steering and turn in and that engine sounds amazing. another excellent video mate.

Funny, when you look at the company and the car, you'd think this would be the last vehicle that would attempt sportiness. It looks so much more like it belongs in the luxury cruiser category with cars like the Lexus LC500 or Jag F-type. No way it could take on Porsche, maybe an Audi R8? Anyway, great video as usual!

Hi Roger, any material regrets swapping out of the 718 Spyder to the new GT3 ? (Thinking is doing same).

I used to be a Porsche fanboy and owned them for 11 years. However, after being let down by them too many times, my heart now lies elsewhere. Been looking at a Jaguar F-Type mainly but these AMGS Mercs really do look brutal. Bit pricey, though and no longer a fan of Germanic engineering, which is overrated and lacks emotive character. The perfect sports car doesn't exist, they are all flawed in some way.
