At least the leak has been found. Never used an AI search yet. Who do you use?

I use an individual recovery machine, vacuum pump, scales & gauges. They are all different brands but are decent names in the aircon industry and at about 15 years old they're still going strong. Also oxygen free nitrogen (ofn) for pressure testing.

If the gas quantity is low you can get quite a difference in temperature between left & right side of vehicle. If you have dual zone air conditioning there may be a fault with one of the flap control motors or temperature sensors. A diagnostic and gas quantity check would be a good idea. Good luck 👍

You can't go guessing. It needs a pressure test to find the culprit. More than likely leaked out somewhere.

You could add refrigerant and test system before leak checking. I normally locate the leak and inform customer there may be other issues to see if they are willing to proceed. If they want to pay extra time I'll fill it and test it beforehand as long as there is no large leak. In the UK your not meant to fill a system with a known leak so it's a tricky situation to be in.

I don't really like to put prices on the internet - It starts a war. I would imagine Mercedes genuine parts and labour for condenser and sensor fitted would be quite a shock. A good independent with quality after market parts could come close to being half that. Have a ring around. Good luck 👍

It's just washing up liquid/water mix. I also use proper bubble spray sold by air conditioning suppliers that has nice bubbles that last for ages.

If I remember correctly it's at the rear and lowest part of the engine.

I've done a couple and no need to remove engine. Even the compressor can be removed from underneath.

There's plenty of good independent garages and mobile air conditioning specialists that are capable of doing this. You need to do some research and get a good recommendation.
