Warning
For the best functionality, you'll need to program the Bluetooth Modules; for that, you’ll need a 15$ CSR USB SPI Programmer, and some quite decent soldering skills. Otherwise your module will advertise itself as having a microphone, and you'll have to toggle your phone off of bluetooth when on calls, which can get quite tedious after a while.

Thanks so much! I too have become addicted to adding BT modules to car stereos :(. TIP: I used the "LN-BT02" bluetooth 4.0 module, which has an onboard DCDC converter/voltage regulator (+7-25V), so no need to add one!

Really nice sharing. I have a question. You have mentioned that you crowbarred the PBREF with all 4 TRK inputs. Could you please let me know how to do it? 5 pins are soldered and connected together?

Moin moin, das Radio hat keinen Fader weil es aus einem SLK stammt. Die Radios lassen sich mit der Stardiagnose einstellen, in welchem Modell es verbaut ist, stellt man deins auf Limousine um hast du auch den Fader. Ausserdem hat dein Radio das kleine abnehmbare bedienteil, welches auch nur SLK Radios hatten

I had bluetooth installed through AM in my mercedes APS BT-2 radio and the sound comes from the right side only with only the left side tweeter working, so no bass speakers working on left side...Any thoughts please? Thank you

Nice tutorial. Tried to do this in the 'elegant' way but looks like there is no sound coming so far. Switched the sony chip to aux in, fed the audio there but looks like no success after the first tests…

Unrelated question but maybe someone has an idea: the removable left front panel from my Becker audio 10 does not illuminate anymore. The central knob does, but not the other buttons. Could it be a problem with the panel itself or with the radio connecting pins?

Jeśli chcesz, znam sposób jak oszukać tape monitor. Zrobiłem to kilka lat temu, mój sposób działa. Niestety nie skończyłem modyfikacji. Próbowałem podłączyć CSR8635 i nawet udało mi się posłuchać muzykę. Niestety przy wciśnięciu pause lub kiedy skończył się utwór z głośników słyszałem bardzo głośne zakłócenia, takie jak kiedyś powodowały stare telefony GSM. Nie wiedziałem jak sobie z tym poradzić i porzuciłem prace nad tym. Dzisiaj oglądając Twój film, wpadłem na pomysł że powodem był brak wzmacniacza modułu przez co wejście kablem do radia miało dużą impedancję i działało jak antena. Daj znać co o tym myślisz :D

Hello! Great video. Thank you for sharing your great work with us. I used a LQSC_BT Bluetooth module, that can handle DC from 5v to 35v, without any stepdown buck converter. I followed your steps, and its working but with a background noise, like a hiss, a static grinding, or ZX Spectrum loading (maybe you don't know that sound...😅 ). Do you have any suggestion to remove that noise? I will try some capacitors on the motor...

what you're talking about sounds like bluetooth noise try adding one of those (very voltage sensitive) isolating dc dc converters those will most likely completely eliminate this chirping digital noise 🤘

i have a quick question @11:06 ,, the right and left and the ground when i tested the continuity with the multi-meter, they all beeped and all are connected which is kind of strange!! is this really possible? how come the R & L & Ground are all connected together? And @16:07 ,, the 5 pins you are showing, when tested the continuity, they too are already connected together! so Im really really confused and im stuck and dunno how to proceed since i'm afraid to fry any circuitry and lose the cassette.... My Cassette is Becker Typ 3100

Great video, and perfect how all the buttons keep working like they should, most of al the volume; its so handy just to do it with the standard button instead of picking up your phone. Do you still do this and can i somehow contact you if you are willing to do this on my unit?

Yes it does, but that's an optical interface called D2B, which was used for a few years mainly by Mercedes, then ditched Only very few adapters were made - and for some reason discontinued ... so, that path was a no-go

Is it possible to inject the audio in the cd changer input on the board? Maybe that way the control buttons to skip tracks on the steering wheel can be used. At least the Bluetooth module has the functionality to go to the next or the previous track.

Oh, it sure is - but you'd need to interface with the D2B optical chip ... or figure out it's outputs, one of which will probably be i2c, which you'd have to generate with something other than the Bluetooth chip People have done this .. but not the sharing kind of people it seems - there was one video where a dude was writing his own stuff on the screen too.. Actually there might be a better way than the one in the video, using the AM section .. haven't tried it on this radio, but I'm sure it's doable

Your solution is very elegant. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I also want to add Bluetooth to my Mercedes Audio 10 Cc radio (I have the other version with the rds button instead of the right knob) but I just want to solder in an aux input and connect in to an external Bluetooth module in the glove box). Can you tell me where I can inject the audio for the aux in? My soldering skills are not that good, so using the aux in ports on the chip is not possible for me. Can I use these test points or are these only on your radio version? Thanks for your help.

Sure you can, I sometimes add an AUX as well and it's just in parallel with the BT module

Hi my friend, i have a problem with my device, i have a radio of clas a160 year 2001 and this has blocked, in the screen have a "wait " word. I have the code but i cant input the code number. Do you have some information to unlock the device? Thanks

yes - you have to have the ignition on - and wait for either 30minutes or a few hours then you'll have another 3 goes at inputting the CODE

Sehr gutes Video! Kann ich vereinfacht auch einen Bluetooth Empfänger mit AUX Ausgang, an den drei von dir gezeigten Audio Links, Audio Rechts und Masse Punkten im Radio verlöten? Den Bluetooth Empfänger speiße ich dan z.B am 12V Anschluss des Zigaretten Anzünders. Bin kein Fachmann und wäre auf deine Meinung und Antwort gespannt!

Ja Kla, würde funktionieren. Du kannst da auch ne 3,5 mm Klinke anbraten und da dann BT anschließen

On the radio side I'm very much confident I can pin out where to solder the three wires LGR for bluetooth injection as well as getting power for the Bluetooth module from the motor. However please advice me how to connect the power on the module and how to include like a voltage stabliser so that it won't go above 12v. Where should I put power on the module

I'd suggest getting a 5v input bluetooth module, and using either a switch-mode buck dc-dc converter a.aliexpress.com/_eOsxv3 or a linear regulator a.aliexpress.com/_ePe9Pn to step any voltage, be it 11 or 14.5 down to a steady 5

Hello, a friend request me to do something similar on a becker be 0774, it has a cassette and AM FM Tuner. What do you recomend? Removing the AM imput or a Blank tape on the Tape side?

I had mine connected through the AM on a APS BT2 Original Mercedes radio but the bass only comes out of the right side although when switched to FM the sound is perfect from both sides…apparently a common problem that I m trying to find a solution to. Tweeters from both sides work ok with AM connected Bluetooth though.
