Thank you for sharing this. I'm almost buying a 2018 b250 and your video is very useful. Did you experience any maintenance that were out of the usual with this car? Is the maintenance expensive for this model?

@@RafaelCasagrandeav Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy your B Class. The only things that I’ve had is sensor issues. From memory I had a boost sensor fail, £140 for a replacement including diagnostics and fitting. I also had an issue with the accelerator sensor which turned out to be the connector which was cleaned out with an air line and I’ve never had any more issues. Hope this helps.

Really interesting note about the map/navigation feature you gave. When I bought my B250 2014 in 2018 here in Canada, my local Mercedes dealer told me navigation cannot be added. I'll go check for the box you reference in the glove box. Incidentally, the glove box is the thing I dislike the most on the car. It's so oddly shaped and hard to close.

It could always vary on different markets. I also have an SLK with the upgraded COMAND sat nav and there isn’t an adaptor in the glove box. I would definitely check and let me know how you get on. I feel the same about the glove box, I find the compartment in the centre where the gear lever in a manual car is more useful.

Nice video mate! Thanks for that. How do you find the driving experience and handling? I’m used to driving bmws, drove the b250 once, with the 2 litre turbo and I found it handled AND shifted strange. There was also a lot of vibration in the steering wheel as well. Don’t know if it was just that one car, and there is not a lot of info on these.

Thanks for watching! I know that the automatic gearboxes do adapt to how you drive. When I first brought my B Class, the gearbox didn’t want to give my any power, this was probably due to the elderly couple that owned it before me who didn’t really use the car. Over a few weeks, it started to downshift more on hills and rev up more to give more power. The vibration in the steering wheel could be a mechanical issue. We have a lot of roads by me that have a stone chipping surface and I can feel a vibration though the wheel. Hope this helps.

Hi I’m looking at a 2012 b class it’s £4990 with a 118 thousand miles on a automatic it was serviced by Mercedes up to 68 thousand miles & there is paper for only one service since at 115 thousand miles any advice on its I should carry on looking for a different one or if it’s worth it as I don’t know how much these cost to maintain are they reliable cars also it was made in Germany which I know they say the best Mercedes come from Germany

Hi, thanks for watching. I would always advise going for a car with good service history. The service intervals on my B Class are every 13,500 miles. Personally I would carry on looking as their are plenty of other cars out there. My B Class has been very reliable with only a couple of sensor issues. As with most Mercedes models, engines, gearboxes, etc generally last well but the sensors are the weak point. My B Class was made in Germany as well. Hope this helps, Steven 👍

I am planning to buy one 2015 model b250 sport tourer. May I please know how much is a early maintenance cost it cost?

Well it can vary depending on the level of service (Mercedes mainly have an ‘A’ and ‘B’ services). You can also get things like the automatic transmission serviced as well. I would suggest getting some quotes at your local call and a Mercedes independent. Other than basic servicing, there’s not a lot to go wrong. The main issue is sensors, the engine, gearbox and drivetrain are usually pretty solid with regular servicing.

Hello Steve, I have just come across your video, which is spot on, as I have a B class from new. While watching your video, I noticed something I desperately need an answer to, how on earth did the Mercedes bonnet badge get fitted to where it is, as my Mercedes dealer says to badge of that type cannot be fitted as they are the wrong size, is it possible for you to reply or send a photo or two, as I would long to fit that type of badge to my B class.

Hello and thanks for watching. I’m not sure I will be much help as the badge was already there when I purchased the car. However I’m not sure how it has been fitted as it seems to sit over the original badge?!?! Obviously it can be done but I’m not sure how. Thanks, Steven 👍

Hey Steve I've just ordered a petrol.... do you any Cons for the B200? Or what to look out for?
@stevensfourwheels
@stevensfourwheels 9 месяцев назад
They are a great car and I do recommend them. I suppose the only cons would be the slightly running costs of a petrol car. However I understand that diesels aren’t for everyone. There’s generally not much that go wrong with these cars. Check that the car feels good on the test drive and that all the electronics work as they should. As a general rule of thumb, the engines gearboxes, etc will last well with regular servicing and maintenance. Sadly it’s often sensors and electronics that let these cars (and my own B Class included) down on occasion.
