I originally got one of the kits from the local auto parts store to do this, but it didn't work very well for whatever reason. Probably user error. I ended up wet sanding the clear lens before using a cutting compound and then some polish. The process itself is longer this way. However, in my opinion it was worth the time and effort.
After I got it open I added some purple for my really awesome wife and re-sealed the deal. I can't wait to reinstall these!
