Very very very nice indeed sir. I would enjoy having one of them E350D right their. Mercedes Benz, the first car ever made, and to this day, still the best quality and longevity. Thanks for sharing
Great Review! I've watched this review more than a hundred times and now after your 2022 C300 review I had to come back to this. I replaced my 20" AMG wheels with 18" stock and non run flats on this pre-facelift W213 to get the comfortable ride Mercedes built their reputation on. Mercedes is regressing otherwise as seen in the new C Class - weird styling, impractical wheel offerings, removal of Air Body Control, more driver distracting capacitive touch screens and surfaces instead of tactile touch brushed aluminium surfaces. They are making the cars gimmicky, badly configured and high effort. In comparison, this E Class is a keeper!
The old v6 Om642 is more reliable than BMW B57, which is also important. I own w213 e350d with v6 and it's quiet as hell. Even with 200km/h you can't hear the engine. Smooth and quiet engine it is.
The colour does indeed look awesome with those AMG line wheels. I would do the same but on a E250d coupé. I would love to see a review on any of the E class coupé models.
It’s going to be interesting to see if/when they put the new OM656 from the facelifted S Class into this E class. I think the problem was that, when the W213 was released in mid 2016, the OM656 wasn’t ready, so they decided to carry over the OM642 from the W212. If the OM656 does come to the e class, they probably won’t do that until the mid life facelift which presumably will be next year. I think it would be a great engine for the E class, but the sad thing is that most customers will still opt for the E220d. Actually, come to think of it, I’ve never seen a W213 E350d on the road yet!
There is nothing wrong with the "old" v6 engine. It's smooth, it's quiet, it's powerful and has lots of torque. It's economical too. It's been refined over the years and quite reliable, compared to other 3.0l engines nowadays.
+Henk Kroonenburg the E400 will have the OM 656 and competes with the 540d. So if you look at power and price, this actually does compete with the 530d.
AutoTopNL de 400d is nog niet beschikbaar of configureerbaar en is inderdaad een goede concurrent voor de 540d maar ik weet niet als Mercedes de 400d levert met 4matic de 540d is helaas standaard met xDrive.
SDav21 the bmw wasn't even i sport mode have you owned any modern bmw and seen how much sport mode means in their cars it just transforms the car completely.
Soulx CrusherX The Merc wasn't in sport mode either so what's your point? The Merc is still faster. And in the new video he has with the E estate versus 5 touring versus Volvo the Merc wins again because it is more comfortable AND has better handling. He also said the Mercs new 2 litre diesel is better than BMWs.
It's not that the Mercedes cars are ugly but the unified theme they're trying for on the rear makes each that bit less special. From a bit of a distance behind a C/E/S class it's quite difficult to tell them apart.
What u talking about. Maybe gearbox is better in BMW but u can’t beat Mercedes 3.0 diesel. Look how many problems Bmw got with their 3.0 litre diesel agr valves oil coleers etc And for me is very loud. Merc is much quieter . You talking bullish my friend. Do the research first and then talk.
maybe i will get many hate but....i dont like this e class at all. its like they tried to upgrade the c-class, but it looks more boring. and it also looks like a s-class without the good features.
