If I won the lottery, I would be bulk buying these things, along with E55's, CLS55's and CLS63's of this era, something about this cars excite me way more than the newer stuff
I've been owning a 2006 CLS 63 for nearly 3 months already and I really fell in love with that car. I totally get your point dude, you won't love a new car as much as the cars from 2010-ish. They have a soul and a wonderful sound too !
@@panika6995 The M156 also has cam phaser problems. I work on these and they are problematic. Not as problematic as the BMW but you can get the BMW in manual.
I remember the time I walked through the door of the Mercedes dealership in early 1995. The W210 was already in all the catalogs, but I had a feeling that this Mercedes was no longer as good as the old ones. So I ordered a magnificent E320 W124 last series… Almost 30 years later I still have this car in its first paint.
Had a W203 with a 2,5l V6, manual and had the sport edition package. Car was awesome. I'm BMW guy and bought that Merc as a daily and it was (except for the open diff) the best winter drifter I've ever had except for the BMW 435i F36 stage2+ Ethanol-mix. The mid 00's the big Trio made amazing cars.
I was in high school at time when this car was new...Mercedes was known for brutal raw feel that gives you goosebumps and BMW for precise handling...It was black or white now they all fit in one color
One thing i could tell you aziz as a merc technician for over 10 years. The e55 was the hidden gem out of all the amg because amg didnt touch it, and by saying this i am speaking aboit reliability and robustness, you see the e63 had a lot of serious issues and that kinda spoils it for a lot of people. I could list you an extensive list of reliability issues on the 63 engine 😁 on the other hand the e55 doesn’t have any problem and to this day still is the most reliable out of any V8 mb has ever made (for the power)
@@azizdrives i am strictly speaking of stock engines and engines who have been regularly maintained to mb standards. We had one particular customer who bought an cl55 amg new and he drove it until he had 600.000kms. Not one part on the engine was ever replaced or ever needed replacing. Alex from legit street cars could back me up on this😀
BUY it Aziz! I know you say you can't, but the smiles you had this video make it clear that it makes you excited and happy. That why we love cars, the emotion!
I would very much appreciate it if you could do after the review ends one minute of pure sound while you’re driving. For the future reviews. Would be a nice addition i think. God bless
@Enko063 I back to differ on that i believe W211 is better than W210 mostly with the looks I'm sure about quality but since W210 is older it might be of good quality than W211. For sure W211 IS WAY BETTER IN QUALITY TO W212 , 213, 214
@@Enko063 having owned both, the W210 was more reliable and higher quality inside, but the W211 was still great. Looked much better and had no rust issues.
Unfortunately Mercedes chose the flashy RGB-lit "look at me, look at me" - lifestyle route with cars that only look good in Tiktok and Instagram reels but do nothing else. The values that built this company -longevity, class and understatement - are long gone. It's like every single car in their lineup is targeted at 20 year old rich kids.
Great review! I’ve recently come across your channel and enjoyed watching your videos. I own a couple of AMG’s myself, a V8 BiTurbo and a V12 BiTurbo S classes. ( W221 models ) and I just love the older cars. Keep up the great work. Mendoj se je shqipetar, dhe eshte kenaqesi te shikoj sa mire i ben video/reviews dhe sa I pasionuar je per makinat.
What a beautiful car! don't laugh I purchased a Mercedes-Benz C220 Wagon 2006 Diesel 6 speed manual on a Vacation and loved it so much now im home looking to get ride of the daily Corolla find a C220. Have a V8 in the garage for the weekends.
I remember this Car, i had to choose between this and the M5 E60 and took the M5, because it was more sporty and the E-Class always reminded me of a Taxi ;)
@@azizdrives not really but I can make some and send them to you, it is a really beautiful car. I will send you some pictures on Instagram if you want
this car is nuts but no where close to e55, keep in mind that mercedes lied about e55's hp as if its 469 but its good over 485-490 and this is proven by autotopnl on dyno video on his wagon e55, forget all of that yet again pulley tune and headers then e55 goes upto 600hp and does 100-200 in 7,30-7.80 which is crazy for a 1850kg 2004 mod lol
@@eraldloka im not hating lol, mercedes lied about the horsepower factory due to sl55 model and they wanted sl to sell more, if you check up sl55 you will see that they got 500 whilst other 55's got 470, theres a lot of evidence on dyno provings into this eitherway 211 e63 is a great car as i mentioned above 'hater' lmao
@@eraldloka it is indeed no where close ive driven and owned both cars as i said both cars are nuts and original stock they are pretty similar allthough e63 looks better, but mod wise e55 is crazy for what you can do for low bucks, which i did and im taking stock f10 m5s and m4 stage 2s right now, i would NEVER be able to do that on a e63 6.2 if i didnt add supercharger which would cost me 10k $ minimum so basically no where close as in mods would be better written down from me, imagine a 470hp car getting 40-45 hp from longtubes, 77mm pulley and tune gives about 80 and a throttle body gives around 40 depending on size, all this for 2500-3000 bucks and you get 650hp crank lol
Back when there was a real difference between the C-class, the E-class and the S. It really felt like you got your money’s worth. Today, they are still great cars but it seems Mercedes doesn’t care anymore and just puts big screens in every model. It’s sad to see cars lose their soul man…
Love Zürich Love old Mercedes-Benz A recommendation is the A208 CLK 430 or CLK 55 AMG as Cabriolet/ Convertible this both models will be the next classics with V8 engine and 4 seats Grüezi miteinand aus Bayern
@@azizdrives my bad, I’m not really a Mercedes fan, I personally I think Mercedes as a brand is completely living off old merits and the last good “regular Mercedes” was the W211.
@@klaspeppar5619W204 is still great too. Won all longetivity and reliability tests back then. The W205 was the downfall. And after that it all got worse.
Agreed. I own e55 but wouldnt mind having both. Much more tuning capability and a bit more reliable. Like i said though you really cannot go wrong they are amgs
Very nice E Class. I have a w203 which is from the same generation of Mercedes cars. I like it very much, besides some little problems. Unfortunately it’s a c180 not an C55 or C32. Take care guys. By the way extraordinary good video
Unpopular take but in all honesty beside the reliability of the M113(k) (todays M177 isn't any worse to be fair) there isn't much to justify this gen as peak Mercedes, coming from an owner. The interiors are well made but when you sit in a german built W213 E63s it's no different story. You might argue there is a bit more plastic in the W213, well how about the soft paint in the 211 or that the interiors become creaky over time. The airmatic fails much worse than with todays Mercs, the 5G 722 is slow as hell compared to today. The steering is far off precise and direct. If you ask me Mercedes really started to take off with the 2nd gen CLS, W204 mopf, w222 S class etc. (So around 2012) and they kept their pinnacle up till 2020. Imagine in 2019 you had the choice between a C63s Coupe, Cab, Sedan, Wagon, E63s, E53 Coupe, GT63s, GTR, S63/65 Coupe/Cab/Sedan etc. they just had every possible car for anybody. And the people who say a 2019 made amg is bad in quality are absolutely clueless or have sat in a mexican built Merc.. try a GTR's inside it's bullet proof or the full leather interior of the C217. There's a reason why BMWs out of the time are worth more than the Mercs (2000-2008) this was Mercedes old man era
From a driving and performance point of view . Yes the 2010 - 2020 era AMG was at its peak . However the interior quality and ride comfort was at a decline . These were not that dynamic , but they had better quality than the 2010 - 2020 AMGs. Hence they are said to be peak Mercedes cars . For me I'd say the peak Mercedes are the ones from the 1980s to early 1990s . It depends on which ones you like the most .
Nice presentation, you know well all the technical data and appreciate it. A modern car or ev is for a different generation who doesn't care about cars let alone what's under the hood, sorry for them
I like old cars and always turn around to look at the W212s I see on the street, but saying the W211 is the best Mercedes and the justifying it with "it has the same technology of today's cars" just doesn't make sense to me. In that case, I can just continue driving my W205 which is cheaper, costs way less on insurance and tax, gets better fuel mileage, and has the same features. Right?
You should've gotten one of these instead of the c63 , because it also got the 6.2 and is more luxuryes and comfortable, wich were your 2 complains about the C63 i think.
No modern cars r not better. They are gimmicks and toy shitboxes. Cars made until 2012 are proper ones where nobody cared about fuel economy and cutting costs. Cls 500, e63 amg, s500, rs6, 750 and m5 r the pinnacle of petrolhedonism.
The golden era of Mercedes was in the 80’s early 90’s. After, they became unreliable money pits machines And the car you introduce is a real money pit which is not made to last. Suspension issues, braking issues, electronics, etc etc.... The V8 has bolt issues... Talk to us about the W126 or W124. Those one are REAL Mercedes.
no because emissions, and somehow all car parts must be made of shit plastic that fails in 5 years. Forget about toyotas and mercedes or vw, nobody these days make good cars. And they ask a hefty price too
That car was a dud outside of the motor...w210 had a vastly superior build quality, anyone that owned them during that transition saw that. Also, the W210 E55 was the last handmade motor in the AMG factory in afalterbach... the rest came from mercedes in house.
@@azizdrives RS6 is slightly larger vehicle than its competition and offer higher comfort and more legroom. In every generation A6 has more legroom on the back seats than every competitor.
I was born in 04 I used to love newer cars like my parents upgrading to new cars would make me happy but now those are the exact cars I want to buy back the joy of buying new cars isn't there for me anymore.Esoecially the lfa is the dream for me.
