EVEN EASIER WAY TO GET THE LID OFF IS INSERTING THE KEY ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE KEY SLOT AND THE LID POPS RIGHT OFF, NO NEED TO PRY ANYTHING OR RISK DAMAGING OR SCRATCHING THE OUTSIDE OF THE FOB. JUST FYI.

Perfect explanation. 2 minutes to change the battery on my 2010 GLK 350 fob. More common CR2032 battery also fits.

Nice! I checked a couple of websites, but your explanation was the best. So easy to do once you know about the tab. You just put the key back into its slot slightly offset from where it came out so that your metal key catches the tab. Bingo

Perfect! Both my 2018 Keys were showing “low battery” messages upon entering the car. Fixed in about 10 minutes total and that was trying to open the battery package. Thanks so much!!

Brilliant video thank you . Put a thin knife whilst holding that key inside the fob to lift the flap on the black plastic piece exactly the way you say in your video and out comes the black plastic cover and reveals the battery. Note which side the batteries goes back in , the the right way with wording and + sign up up replace cover and it’s good to test and go . Thank you for the video

I was wondering if you have any information on whether I can repurpose (reprogram) some 2015 Mercedes-Benz C300 (No Push to Start) Keys into spare keys for my 2014 Mercedes-Benz E350 Sedan (No Push to Start. Just regular insert and twist to start keys.) I have two C300 keys that were given to me, but before I dispose of them, I wanted to know if they can be repurposed for my E350. They are exactly the same keys at least from the way they look externally. Perhaps a dealer or independent repair facility can reprogram them for me. Please advise. Thank you very much!

My 06 CLK 350 cabriolet has 2 keys one that drives and 1 that does nothing, the battery works and can lock and unlock but u can't turn In ignite. Any ideas?

Who in the world would give this a thumbs down? This was easy and perfect. hmmmmmmm They must not have this key at all. Anyways. Thank you. Now Im off to go grab a few batteries for my keys. Make sure you all keep the spare key powered up as well. Manual locking your cars gets tricky.
