Procedure on how to do valve cover gasket replacement and breather reseal, also change spark plugs and wires on Mercedes Benz E class. All 112 and 113 engines is the same procedure.
lol, with the air tool I get them close to be tight to reduce the time of spinning it by hand, then tighten them by hand, I've done this all my life, I don't need to torque them anymore.... I use to but after a while you get the tightening pressure.
hey Nelson, can you post a head gasket replacement video for a m113 or 5.0 v8. looking to do my 2002 cl55 amg thanks man! or do you where to find a how do video?
great video, Nelson! have 2001 ML430 and recently replaced plugs and wires to fix p304 & 305. still I have p170 & 173, so I need to replace gasket in intake manifold. do you have a video clip for removing/installing intake manifold?
GManGT no you could re-use them, don't go crazy on the breather bolts or you will brake them, the valve cover bolts just hand tight don't want to get technical on tork spec or patter
I've done so many, I know how they go!, but if you get confuse the valve covers has marking, [a,b] and also which wire letter goes with [a, or b] like wires are labeled g,k,l,or h. and the coil has the [a,b] marking also
you have to change the oil filter housing seal and oil cooler seal. and to do this you have to remove the thermostat so may as well change it and is pretty easy to change the power steering reservoir o ring which they leak while you around there. and don't forget to flush the system. After you finished you will still see some oil in the coolant reservoir but not much,
Hello. My SLK 320 has an oil leak on the top of the engine. Oil is "pooling on teh top of the motor underneath the air intake plenum. The valve cover gaskets look fine. Any idea where this oil could be coming from? Any advice is appreciated.
@@nelynel83 Thank you for the reply. That's very helpful. I didn't want to pull the intake off for no reason so I'm going to go ahead and remove it and inspect these plugs.
1st you have to clean the old glue, scraped it off with a small flat head screwdriver and metal wire brush, clean with break cleaner spray. And no you don't have to drain the oil.
Erick Sabal around $550 for coil wires and spark plugs including labor, done every 100k. fuel filter $150, every 60k. brake flush, every other service means every 20k $80. oil change $120. engine filter, every 60k or 5 years $50 cabin filter, every other service $40, Transmission service $340, every 4 years hope this helps to get a better understanding

lol, don't be like that, my costumers are always around and never got one coming back! Benz guy since I was 17 years old, I do this just to help people out by posting this video that's all
How many times does a professional need to torque a bolt, nut or spark plug until you have a "feel" for how much pressure it takes to achieve something approaching 23 nm? This isn't rocket science, the goal is to have all the fasteners set at around the same tension.
Yes he saved time by not cleaning the valve cover, skipped cleaning the gasket channel and didn't torque the plugs or hand thread them. Wonder if they got cross threaded. I'll guess they'll figure that out in 50k miles.
@Sergio Gomez this car is a E500 8 Cylinder 113 Engine. But is the same procedure for the E320, E350 are 6 Cylinders 112 engine and the next model takes a 6 Cylinder engine that is a 272 Engine. Sorry for the confusion.
