@@keytothegate68 I think that depends on where you live, if you're in a climate with long winters maybe yes, if you're in a warm climate the RWD cars are more common. Also all W211 AMG's are RWD.
you did not explain why there was a grooved bolt that fastens the control arm to the subframe. Camber adjustment! You must take note in which direction the excentric grooved bolt was installed in order to reinstall it in the same direction. The presence of the grooved bolt means that previously there was a camber adjustment done. After replacing the lower control arm you definitely will do a alignment, yes, but if the camber is good after reinstalling the excentric bolt in the same way it was installed before replacing the control arm then you are ahead of the game. Camber adjustment on the w211 is tedious. You might just save yourself some trouble, especially if you are DIY without having the use of a car lift.
My local mechanic installed these camber bolts (Mercedes Suspension Eccentric Bolt Kit - Febi Bilstein 0003300018), but he said that with the provided symmetrical washers and nut it is not possible to adjust the camber. He said that I need asymmetrical washers to be able to adjust the camber. Could you please share a video showing how to adjust the camber with this kit?
Great Video! You are great explanation step by step as if I was going to do this my self. Great workplace to work air conditioning, all the tools you need as your disposal. You make it look so easy your not even dirty! You can work on my car anytime. Only thing is the dealers charge too much for the simple things like changing the light bulbs. Need to find a reasonable price and a good mechanic.
