Havnt done that in 5 years.....but just sits in the driveway....just for Sundays....gotta do the pass. window just noticed it wont open....not the fuse...got my 463 from europa a ways back
Not really .. the seal is there to retain most of the grease , and clean the swivel of dirt and moisture. The grease itself is the real barrier to dirt entering , The seal is more of a wiper than a true seal . The grease is kind of sacrificial and needs to be refilled regularly
@@fupabox i have read differing thoughts on this and can't be sure. some people say that the grease inside the swivel housing should be its original color because if the CV boot is ruptured the dirty grease could cause a lot of damage to the cv joint if it enters. therefore ,the swivel housing need to be resealed. since that is a big $$ job i'm just trying to get a better understanding
@@joshc504 After 15 years there is not much chance it can be the original colour . I'm sure it has a bunch of different greases mixed in there . I have read articles on ripped cv boots and leaking axle seals mixing the greases . I don't believe that is happening on mine , but the only way to be sure would be to do a seal replacement just to check it all.
