I just start watching your videos as a car lover .your reviews are very honest and make sense .This is absolutely a stunning suv, it looks more bigger and bulky than Audi q9 and BMW x7 plus interior looks so modern and luxurious.I would say Mercedes Gls is a king of the road with best 7 seat capacity.
10:09 The screens are just casually freaking out in the background. The driver's display is switching between the map and default view, and the centre is flashing on and off.
I'd still choose the X7 over this, but I've gotta admit, the GLS is a handsome truck. Gorgeous interior design, but the inconsistent detailing would irritate me to no avail!! Great review, Paul.
Do top of the door panels for 4:12. For that misaligned cubby and buttons, they honestly just need to move the production out of America and back to Germany. I think apple phones don't have high resolution screens so to expand apple car play to the whole screen would make it look weird.
Your argument about full-screen Apple CarPlay is rubbish. They don't scale it up and cause resolution problems. The X7 has the same screen size with full screen CarPlay, it looks pretty good.
Paul always love your reviews! Couple of points on the GLS. After sitting in the BMW X7 then the GLS I felt the quality of the materials and the plastics on the doors and 3rd row were far superior in the X7. Also, the overall build felt much tighter in the X7 compared to the GLS which you quite rightly pointed moved around a bit when you pushed on the dash component. For cars that are in the same price bracket I think you should have called out the Mercedes a little more for this. I sat in one at the LA motor show and the continuous people traffic had left so many marks on the cheap door bin plastic. Thanks

Majority of the cars you review I’m not super interested in but only watch them cause you review them and make them really interesting and, annoyingly, kind of want to own the cars. Best suggestion I’ve had from RU-vid in a very long time! For the softness test I’d like to see the steering wheel and the headrest.

Luxury cars in Australia are so much more expensive relative to other countries. Why do we still have the Luxury Car Tax. I thought there's no longer any locally made cars so what car industry is the LCT protecting?
Simple, because the government Don't have money. They need find a way to get money. Same with speed fine. Why they do that? Because they don't have the ability to manage doing business with other country. All they know is increase different kind of tax Or increase fine etc.
Paul FYI, these types of pricey high end suvs are normally used by big corporate heads or chauffeured driven in the Middle East as well as China & Russia, hence the boss will probably be seating the at the back and need more space hence by having the switch to control the left front seat, the driver can make necessary adjustments for his boss..:)
Hi Paul another great video, really enjoying your work. I'm just a bit perplexed about your comparison of this big Benz to a Toyota Torago, wouldn't it's natural competitor be the Toyota Landcruiser?
I love this car but not with this wheels. Those 23 inch dual 5 spoke ones are amazing on the GLS and the 400d probably the best engine. The inline 6 diesel has great power and torque, is smooth and can still have reasonable fuel economy.

Tough to say - we only get one specification in Australia, so it may be different in your country. It's quite a high standard specification though to match the price.
Doubt it is Apple CarPlay resolution, BMW iDrive 7 along with other manufacturers have them on widescreen. Also wish you do more review on HUD, it is one of the most important features for me on any car :D Also, what's with Mercedes using texture for their leather seats on the side and back, they look a little cheap.
Great review.. yes it tickles my fancy.. I want one! I thought I wanted a Land Rover until I saw this. This has seven passenger capacity and the Land Rover does not.
Great review. I just bought a 2020 GLE 450 SUV. Yes interiors are the same. And my OCD also flares up when I see my car’s chrome buttons in the middle console. THEY DONT PERFECTLY LINE UP. 😂. Mercedes must have a partnership with the international psychiatry association. lol
You sure the boot space with both rows down is only 1470 litres? A Skoda Kodiaq has nearly 2000 litres with both rows down and the GLS is a much bigger car.
Yep - the problem with cargo space is the different way manufacturers measure it. With the GLS - Benz only quotes up to the window sills whereas Skoda would quote to the boot ceiling. They should all be to the same standard in my opinion! 😁
Paul nice review again! But seriously, I wouldn't say too much about your lovely wife's back massages. This is a pretty expensive alternative & no slow cooked lamb/beef/chicken meals either!!!😆 And mate seriously baggy clothing is the new slimming tool!!!🤣👍🏻As for the HUD I had a Merc GLZC 2015 & I turned it off. I found it bloody distracting!
Nice work Paul. Would be nice to have the x7 comparison. I just can’t get over the GLS (whole Mercedes) new look, it just looks so hideous. The front light and rear light look so shallow.....
Re: Build quality and misaligned glovebox cover & buttons. You gotta realize this Benz is built in the USA. By Americans. In an American Factory. An American Car making factory. You can't expect traditional German precision and attention to detail.
These cars are a rip-off in Australia!! $170000 for a car that will be worth $25k in 7 or 8 years. $1k services, and not reliable!!! Shitbox shitbox shitbox!!!!
