You guys are life savers I read the manual and really couldn't make heads or tails of it! You explaining how everything worked showed me a lot of stuff the dealership didn't even know about!! Thank you so much!!🤩
My wife and I just bought a Mercedes 2021 sprinter van. It’s like a spaceship. This video was so helpful. Thank you so much. We will be looking for more.
We just picked up an Airstream Interstate 2020 and your right, it is like a spaceship and this video was helpful in our attempt to learn all we can. Stay safe out there fellow Mercedes friends.
This is one of the most detailed review and youtube instructional video made. Great job! You have probably sold alot of Sprinter vans and helped alot of people solidify their decision.
I just traded my 2018 in for a 2021 and your video has been so helpful because there are so many changes that it is overwhelming. this overview is essential for anyone new to the latest sprinter.
Paul, that is one awesome video! As a compulsive geek, I have craved a walk through of the new Sprinter Cockpit. At last, I am fulfilled. Thanks so much for taking the time to do that. I just love you guys.
Use the third button on the seat memory to set the seat to the best position to swivel it around to face the living area. Not my idea. Got that from Matt of Matt's RV reviews.
Awesome video for anyone who ownes a Mercedes van. I'm still in the learning curve about my Boldt settings. I'm saving this video for the future. Thank you.
You two are really awesome at giving your van fam a thorough tour of van features! Every time you do one of these I feel like I am right there with you-- good camera work & anticipating questions. Tell Orlando I only mentioned you "two" because he has been a little lax on the entertainment side of the video. I did appreciate his cameo though LOL. Really-- great job, fellas. Thanks, again!
Thanks for the visual tutorial on your new Mercedes Sprinter features. Like you, Paul, I too am a techno geek and love to know all the things I can access by pushing a few buttons. I've even educated some sales professionals on features that were hidden in the new cars they sell. Adaptive cruise control and 360 degree cameras are the only way to go... I have them on two of my cars and love those features along with automatic egress. (That's when the driver's seat moves back and the steering wheel moves up and out of the way when exiting the vehicle.)
Hey Guys nice review on the new van features. The crumb collecting feature on the seats is absolutely brilliant. If your 6"5 like myself the extra seat length will support your legs just that little bit more so your lower back muscles don't have too. It makes a long drive so much better when you can take the tension out of your body.
Thank you so much my friend! Just picked up our Mercedes Sprinter and your explanations were perfect. Saved me a lot of time. Enjoy your travels and stay safe. Hopefully we'll see you on the road at some point.
HA...I LOVE buttons!! The 4wd button looks like the van icon is doing a WHEELIE. I’ve never seen a van lifer do an in-depth tour of the cockpit. So thank YOU for doing this. I’m a geek and it is much appreciated. HOORAY‼️💯❤️🚐💨
So I've been following you guys since before you got the Storyteller - just so much "questionable van life content" :) - and I put a deposit down on a Storyteller with Cathy at LaMesa RV in FL before you got yours! I'll be picking mine up until next month. But imagine my delight now at watching you guys dive into the features of the exact same van I'll be driving in a few weeks! The shower. The cab. Love it. Thanks guys. Keep 'em coming!
@@artiesanchez Lead times are getting longer now. I think at the moment it's out 9 months or more. Mine I hope will be 3 months. I think C & P got lucky and got theirs quickly. Good luck!
So looking forward to getting my Sprinter 170 cargo 4x4 in March 2022. Build date in Düsseldorf is November 5, 2021. (Canadian order) As a master tradesman I couldn’t resist doing at least one van conversion. This video has helped to maintain my enthusiasm for what’s to come. I’m doing my best to patiently wait for delivery day!
Great video! I have a Revel and I learned a lot about the features of my van that the dealer didn’t tell me. One thing though, there is a glove compartment of sorts. If you press on the passenger side dash, there’s a little cubby there you can use to store your insurance and registration cards.👌
Another enjoyable & informative video. I’m salivating! Haha want to be out & about so badly. Really loving ST. Between ST & a Sportsmobile with pop top.
We recently purchased our first camper van (Pleasure Way Plateau FL), and I was terrified to drive it, but you’re right... it’s soooo easy to drive. One funny thing... I’m 4’11” and even when the passenger seat is as low as it will go, only my tippy toes touch the floor!
Great informative video. Sure makes deciding between the sprinter and the ram a no brainer. I do like all the safety features especially for someone coming out of a car. Sorry we didn't get to see the cooking video with Chad. Hope he does one soon. Always great to see Orlando. Happy Trails, guys!
The only thing you left out, but okay is the SXM Radio, which you will need the APP for SXM Radio. I did like the grab handles on the door for my wife. We have the two-wheel drive, The Overhead storage compartments are great. As for DEF Old models seem to need more after 5 or 6 fill ups. We drove from FL to UT and back before we need to top it back off. Good Overview demo good voice clear, however the dashboard was dark in some of your instructions. Great JOB well done.
I'm so happy for both you. The seats look so comfy. 😍. Such a nice van. I asked someone from Germany why they didn't have more cup holders in their cars. Got the look of 🤨. I was especially lectured on being more focused on driving than drinking my coffee. Because you shouldn't be drinking or smoking while doing 110 on the Autobahn. 😉😁
Very helpful. I have motor home built on a sprinter chassis. It doesn't have all of the features like blind spot because the mirrors had to be changed out. It has a backup camera but it doesn't have the parking features. Wish it did.
Excellent tutorial. Suggestion: Secure the window breaker with a (breakable) string. In a rollover or violent road departure, the thing will go flying.
@@ChadandPaul I have a friend who was in a rollover and ended up hanging from his seat belt but unable to locate his device to cut himself free. Highly unlikely event, but easy to prepare for. Drive safe.
I appreciate this video! Recently we took delivery of an RV with the Sprinter 3500 chassis and, while I plan to eventually read the entire manual, this video will help me feel a bit more capable until I do. BTW, at 6'4" I can tell you there are quite a few of us that are much more comfortable with longer seat cushions than most seats have - I'll happily vacuum the crumbs out of the extendable bit.
You talk about the van applying the brakes when you try to leave the lane unintentionally to the right. The van actually applies the brakes on only one side slightly to drag the vehicle back into the appropriate lane. Especially important, it does that going left over a yellow line too, to avoid head on collissions.
Thanks Paul heading to get ours this Thursday really appreciate the detail! I’m a bit nervous to drive it but it will be ok!! Hubby will drive first I think Safe travels😀
Super helpful video since I just took possession of my new Sprinter 4x4. One thing though that's not correct, the button on the dash that you/Paul said is for going uphill when in 4 wheel drive. That button is the 4 Low button, to be used in very few situations, like rock crawling or in deep sand/mud or going downhill in treacherous off road conditions, but mainly 4 Low is used off road. Thanks!
The extension in the seat is for taller people what you call an emergency brake is a handbrake & in the Uk we use them so our vehicles don’t roll away also with the vehicle in Park!
1) Cruise Control-The main toggle SET+ and SET- will adjust set speed up and down 2 ways! slight touch will change 1mph up or down AND hard touch and hold slightly will set speed to the nearest 5mph increment then increase/decrease by 5mph and long old will step up/down by 5mph until you release. 2) Volume control on right side of steering wheel controls volume up and down AND if pressed in it Mutes the system! 3) Climate Adjustment - If you have AUTO it sets fan speed and vent direction for you. Pressing fan direction or fan speed up or down turns off AUTO and fan set all the way down shuts off the system. 4) DEF gauge can be set on full time at bottom of dash screen 5) Tire Change Tools are under the passenger floor mat, maybe 2 layers deep. You have to pull the whole mat and floor pad out and you'll find a loaded tool tray and under that more fuses as well. The jack is in a more obvious compartment in the door step. 6) Wireless Key Fob - This key can be finicky and unless you know the secret below you need to push it into the key slot down on the center consul (pain in the butt!) If sliding door is used key FOB is most likely to not (86.3% of the time) be recognized and you'll be asked to put FOB in the forget-about-it slot. Just open and close the drivers door and presto it works. You may also cycle the lock/unlock door button and sometimes those keys on the FOB. 7) Key FOB can control the window up and down remotely. Just hold in the lock position and both windows will close to fully closed but you have to hold the button down all the way, they open the same way. I'm sure there are others but you got most of it. Thanks C&P
Superb! Why can't manufacturers provide something similar? Instead , we get multi-hundred page manuals with all kinds of warnings and excess verbiage. Thank you!
Guys nice video! After watching your video with Capitan Morgan, I decided that the Storyteller is the one. I could buy the last available in the Tampa RV Show, delivery in september. Looking forward!! Just a quick question. Does the sprinter come with an alarm system? do you think is necessary to connect one? Enjoy your trip and see you on the road after september!!
Congrats Gonzalo!! Excited for you!! It doesn’t come with an alarm system- I’m sure you could put one in. We haven’t thought like we needed one in the past year we’ve been full time, but everyone has different needs and comfort levels
Hey guys, enjoyed another great video. I hope you are planning a video or several comparing the cost of the sprinter to the ram. ie... insurance , gas/diesel, oil change and service, mpg , etc... The initial cost of the sprinter is I've heard $20 thousand more is hefty and going from gas to diesel plus DEF and locked to Mercedes can be costly. What's your thoughts??
Good questions! We’re definitely going to make a promaster v sprinter comparison at some point. We’ll def do an update on maintenance as DEF etc for the sprinter as it comes up. At the moment, the comfort, safety and features of the sprinter are total worth it for us
What a great overview of the cab! I am thrilled to see that Storyteller opted for almost all the options Mercedes offer. Do you know why they didn't order the high performance LED headlights like those on the Revel? It's adaptive to the turns in the road and would be helpful with driving at night.
@@ChadandPaul Thank you for the response! I would be interested to know if you have them and if not, why Storyteller didn't include them in the chassis order. I'd like to have them on mine when I order a Storyteller.
Hey guys, great video with good info. We have the Revel and they said the seats have no heat because they swivel, HMMMM makes me think the gave me some BS since yours swivel also. I am now looking to add heat to our seats oh and ours are not power either. More MODS.
The MidWest and many others have that low hanging cab ceiling that we can the head bop. Grech RV doesn't and I love that feature. My first "B" had it and I had to wear a hard hat until I got used to ducking.
Great informative video Paul. I have an America Coach Patriot. Still learning after one year. Can you elaborate on getting local speed limit to display?
Thanks so much for this! We have a small Class C RV but are looking to custom build a Class B on a Sprinter so I was curious what tech features came with a luxury van base. Even better that this is from the perspective of an RV/campervan usage but focused on the stock vehicle features. Also, much better info than some crappy dealership video.
How is the road noise especially compared to the Travato? Do you find it better insulated for noise reduction? Paul, you did a good job on the front features.👍
Do both front seats have that odd little seat extender? I could see someone traveling with a small child might turn the seats facing each other and pull them out as an extra bed perhaps.
@@ChadandPaul I'm super curious. I tried searching stuff like Sprinter seat pull out or extension and ha no luck finding more info. The only other thing I can think is that someone tall might want to lengthen the seat base. As a parent we're always looking for extra spots to cram in another kid. We only have the one, so the groove lounge would work great to her, but it's always nice to have options. I could see making a thin hinged board to go across the seats of there is a gap. Then they could just throw a sleeping bag on top.
Lol you say drawer like my old roommate. She was from Boston. She was trying to tell me where something was and had to say it like 10 times. I couldn’t figure out she was saying drawer. She was leaving off the “wer” part. Odd thing was that’s about the only “Boston” I heard in her.
Just bought a 2024 Mercedes Benz Solera. Great tutorial on the in cab driving features, dash and steering wheel buttons. One question that was not covered? The 2 toggle levers on the back of the steering wheel, has a + and - on them? What are those for? And any tow mode features you know of? Thanks
That was a pretty impressive demo of the Sprinter cab’s features! Definitely more to it than your last RV. Love all of the safety features on the Mercedes. Hope Orlando is feeling better. 🐾
Very cool vehicle, and a nice walkthrough of the cockpit. One thing that I’ve wondered about is how it performs in mountainous areas. If I’m not mistaken, it weighs something like 9,000 lbs, right? The specs say that the engine is 188 hp or in that area. Of course, diesel hp is different than gasoline hp. Have you driven it at altitude in places like the sierras in CA, or the rockies in CO? Just curious about the performance.
Easy to modify that nasty horn, remove it install a horn relay and its place then connect a real horn to the relay with positive line to a battery post. Inline fuse if you want. Great for RVs.
Hi! Great info, thank you. Does your front passenger seat swivel? And is your heater located under that front passenger seat? I’m trying to see if it’s possible to have all of that plus be power adjusting.
Thanks, great info. I need a usb c to iPhone 10xr hookup. So many on Amazon. I ordered the wrong ones twice. Can you link me up on which one works from usb c to iPhone. Thanks , the urban traveler.
Great video! Quick question, can you turn off the automatic sliding door ? Can it just be manual ? The door sometimes won’t close all the way and I have to lightly push it to close completely. I hope to hear back! Thanks
Hello, do you know where you can view your tire pressures? I have a 2021 and can't see the option to view the tire pressure anywhere. It's not in the service area.
Hey guys have you worked how to get the dash instruments lights to turn off straight away when you turn off the van? Mine stay on for about 3min after locking the van🤨
