You videos are great. True and honest. We've got two more years of caravanning then the kids will be 20 so told us they will not come caravanning again (FREEDOM....). We will then get a Camper van. Cant wait. Keep these videos coming.
Thanks 😀 Me and my brother were the same when they used to have a holiday home in Cleethorpes. Something to note is that we prefer this height so we can get under most height barriers for wild camping or aires in France.
Well, you have got it all figured out! It looks great and seems to work for y’all so good for you for getting it all figured out. How you ever remember where everything goes is more than I could do! Lol. I enjoyed seeing how y’all travel and for sure it is cheaper than a hotel!! Thanks for sharing!! Happy camping!!
Thanks, Becky :) Although it does amaze us that the cost of camping is getting dearer at some places as it's becoming more in demand with campers etc. We set ourselves a limit and if it's much more than £25 a night, we go elsewhere, otherwise it's got to be pretty special.
I moved to an underslung 20ltr LPG tank (T4 Westfalia) and my Propex feeds off that. Freed up a ton of space inside and 50p a litre to refill at local petrol station LPG pump. Fill about once every 2 years.
And I thought packing a caravan away was a pain, you really have to be well sorted with that. Do you have a water heater in there or is it just cold supply? £38 for the gas, wow that's expensive. I'm sure I don't pay that for a 13KG bottle (orange). Great video, well done!
Yes, our calor gas of around 12 or 13kg is a bit cheaper. And in France, campingaz has become harder to find! We just have a cold water tap... hot water woukd be lovely though!
We have refillable LPG bottles in our Hymer so, being retired in UK, made a profit on the Heating Allowance. 😎 Now retired to France where life is better for us.
That sounds like the life!! 😁 Although the price of food in France lately tool my breath away!! 😯😯 I'd definitely be trying to grow my own fruit and veg if I lived there 😂
It can be great. We swapped our £300K house with large mortgage for our 300 year old former dairy with pool & bought a Hymer on part-ex with the rubbish proceeds of our endowment policy. Our 'heaven' needed new roof for house & barn & loads spending on fosse septique. Lowest income ever & lowest outgoings. A practical lady like yourself would be quids in with French cottage refurbishments. Food is fine from local SuperU or fresh stuff off the market. Now for a play with me rotovator 😎❤
Have u tryed candles from tesco I used to use then put them on a metal tray u can leave the all knitgh long thay last up to 8 hrs plus thay keep your van warm ❤️❤️❤️
Just come across your video and wow that’s a great build! How much did the build cost of you don’t mind me asking? Has the Vito itself been reliable for you?
Haha! Has someone been buying hanging baskets from Waites again? This was a very interesting film even though I am a non camper. Thank you for sharing. N.
I see, although I don't make videos I have heard a few makers say how long editing takes them. That is why I thank you for posting your films, it must be a very time consuming thing to do and I, and obviously alot of other subscribers really do appreciate the time and effort involved....Thank-you. N.
i would love to see you let loose on a self build camper ,, blank canvas & totally unique to your design ,,its never quite finished but you get a real buzz cos its all your own work -)) not sure if you follow other groups but quirky campers has some amazing self built vans ,, not one the same
Must admit, I wouldn't want to do it again if I didn't have to 🤣 .. there's something relaxing of the idea of buyinh a ready made one lol. Although building my own units would have been fun! RU-vidr Vandemonium is going down that route which is what I would have given a go at 😀
My fiance bought this project, which admittedly wasn't that cheap, but he loves watching TV while I edit videos haha - and we watch things at home with it too amzn.to/2LDMVZx Also, you can see me making the projector screen from recycled blackout curtain lining here, but we need to make a new one as we urgently had to write on it for a friend's wedding: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bbLGj27q0I8.html
Is it possible to hook up a propane tank (20lb) from a gas grill ? It's around 18 dollars US here, seems that would be more economical and last much longer ? Always an informative and peaceful video, Thank you !
Thanks! We were originally talking about putting a splitter on it and doing just that. We definitely need to look in to it before it turns to Winter again because £38 is such a rip off!
There's a slight bit of skid in the snow from memory, but they're so much better than our old ones. Before, we'd got stuck before in the slightest bit of mud and it never used to do well on campsites. Our tyres are Alpha All Season 205/60 R16.
Hi fellow Yorkshire person here...looking at getting a camper or partial build so i can carry it on..how much did the conversion cost you in total? and i like the Vitos. whats it like for reliability and are the engines good?
What I want to know is where you've painted the legend "Home is where we park it"! Or do you have one of those cool magnetic signs bearing the legend, so you can stick it to the outside of the van and peel it off again as and when needed? Or, if you don't fancy that legend, what one might sum up the way you feel about travelling round in the great outdoors? Just asking ;o)
Haha, I'm not that big on signs/stickers, but it mine might be something like "Life's better at the beach". I might have to fine tune that answer and get back to you 😂
Just a quick question. I just received a converted Vito camper van as a work vehicle. I opened the external socket under the rear bumper and it was full of water. Do you think it could still work or is it best I just replace it?
Yes, we did, but the price was about 3k to buy and install. If I did it all over again, I'd pay for it. The propex heater isn't the hottest, but I don't have anything to compare it to.
Travel with Daisy The Dalmatian I have seen those on other videos. We have a fan heater we use for camping on hookup and plan to use that initially. Also planning a Vito.
@@TheCarpentersDaughterUK I have to say II am very pleased with my Webasto heater. You just need to be aware that it does need some juice to run and will consume a fair few amps on start up. Once it's going though it is relatively frugal in terms of battery. It costs very little in terms of diesel though - perhaps 100ml per hour per KW. I have a 2KW unit and it is more than enough for my LWB VW T4.
Oops I just went with the closed captions...my hearing must be eroding. nevertheless English slang is very funny. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dRBVlDN6-oo.html
