So just to confirm , I replaced my waterpump a few days ago. The man is right it is easy enough. There a relatively small number of bolts to take out. Taking off the lower bumper will probably be the hardest. At the corners are little plastic dowels to take out once they are out a few bolts them bumper off. Take grill off to , that's super easy. Next 4 bolts each per headlight , and there easy out too. Next bit seems scary your gonna open a few bolts on the top cross member , and the bottom , just do it , once done flex out the radiator assemble and then in at the allen screw in the middle of fan. To get this loose can be tricky , find a suitable small diameter screwdriver and tap in behind screws to hold against allen screw. There are 3 different size torx sockets , to get off waterpump. I suggest visiting a breakers yard and look at a engine out , to see first hand which screws to take out. Tips. : be careful of upper pipe on radiator, relieve clip on expansion bottle end and let off that pipe. Otherwise risk snapping off. If that happens use chemical metal to fix. 2. Check orientation of jubilee clip on pipe , as fan belt can rub against it. 3. When taking bolts out of waterpump , push into piece of cardboard. To remember way to put back. 4. Probably need replacement plastic grommet pins to secure corner of bumper and wing corner. 5. Don't worry it's a very doable job. Will need a selection of torx sockets, male and female. 6. Take a photo before taking off fan belt.
Thank you very much for this video it helped alot especially when I had to remove the fan from the water pump 😂😂 I won't lie it still took me a hour even though I looked at how you did it
Brilliant vid man! We've been told our 2003 Vito (presumably almost exactly similar set up) just has a faulty seal around one part of the pump, been quoted $3000au to fix it due to labour but bloody hell it looks easy enough, might just give it a crack
Looks like there might be a leak from the high pressure pump? On my vito the oring on the back of the high pressure pump, was seeping oil. I put on a thicker oring, as factory one is quite skinny. Gave it a good push to get it back it.
