That extrusion your talking about is a tweeter, and help with clearer high end frequencies. the new speakers you got are called 2 way speakers, because they have a mid woofer and a tweeter. If you want to get speakers that don’t Interfere in the front, get just the mid woofer (1 way speaker). Nice wagon!
