Absolutely fantastic. It was very clear at a nice pace. I am going to order the motorised part. I am sure this is what's faulty on my lock after someone tried to break in to car
Thank you so much for your video ii have the same problem but I didn't want to cut the steel pins in case it sprang open and I lost the parts, I can now open it with confidence. Great help sorry you couldn't fix yours Ps those motors used to be in the old scale electric toys if you are wanting to get one.
Thanks for showing the inside! Actually, there's another thing that can go wrong-and it did in my case: the little spring that pushes the red plastic in the closed position popped out, (found it) so the tailgate doesn't close. There's a video how to do that, but it's very unclear.... We'll see. Sorry you didn't show how to put that little spring back in place😊 ( I think i can see it in the first screenshot of your video,?)
Thanks for showing this, I was curious what was inside but didn't want to do the grinding on the two bolts. I'm assuming that replacing this unit did indeed fix your issue? My rear hatch will not open and it is difficult to tell if the problem is the button on the hatch, or the release unit you are showing here.
Release button (red one) is a manual release, if you can open a part of the inside plastic (the one that is actually right now in the trunk), so the red button in this case should be able to manually release... And eventually open it
@@nathanphiri3643 i used an electric grinder on the metal plate (as u can see in the video - it looks like it was brushed ...instead i pass a few time with the grinder and then i used a hammer to pull it out, same you will have to use a hammer to putt it back). Good look
Thanks sir, I hope this will save me a alot of 💸💰, and being in Zambian, southern Africa even if I buy online it won't reach here anytime soon so the only way is to fix it, so once I putt out the steel bolts after grinding them will I need glue to stick it back together. And I have also noticed the motor (one u called engine) inside this latch is dysfunctional, I suppose that could be problem with mine, initially the rear door was bouncing back now it's stuck and can only be opened manually from inside. So I think it's the motor
where can I find that motor? I have a faulty one in drivers door. I dont want to change all the lock mechanism. I tried to find it with no luck. I am considerign to rewind the cable inside it.
remove the courtesy light (red and white located near the look on the plastic panel) and disconnect the power switch, then gently insert a flat screwdriver between the plastic panel and the metal starting from the bottom near the look
