I had a stone kick up from an 18 wheeler on the highway and it took out my headlight glass lens..Got a replacement from the wrecking yard along with a sweet near new set of W202 embroidered floor mats..all for the princely sum of $30.. not a bad deal :) This video will show how to remove and replace the glass headlight lens on your w202 Mercedes...w124 body style is very similar as well follow me on twitter / fupabox

Another great tutorial, just replaced my lamp, the whole unit was cheaper than just the glass from ebay. not sure my replacements vacuum system is working but if not with swap my old one back in with glass from new one. Many thanks again, I'm going to watch your brake videos as that's the next job

Helpful video, as usual. I just replaced the entire lamp rather than dealing with the lens and the seal. I snapped the tabs holding the corner lamp, though - they apparently get very brittle with age.

Would the removal of the turn signal be the same on a w201 (190e) ? No tools required.. just basically push it out? thanks

I have a C280 w very dim headlights. Would like brighter, esp since my kid is about to start driving. Should I replace the whole unit or just brighter bulbs? What do you recommend? Plus the lenses look really foggy.

I tried to remove the lens on my W123, and when I tried to take off the clips with a screwdriver, the clip just broke.....

what about the W201 190e? i have an 89 but im replacing them with the ones from the 1990 facelift. same thing? or should i go to a shop?

question for you, have you actually installed the Sylvania silverstar bulbs? are they actually any brighter than the normal halogen bulbs? just not sure if i should spend the 54 bucks to install them on my c230. H7? cheers. great vid BTW a truck just did the same to my lens, Fvck.

I have actually used the silverstars...they are brighter for sure....you're lucky you don't have xenon headlamps...broken lens can't be replaced..new ones are around $500 per side Ouch

I ran Silverstars for a time. I liked them. The real deal is converting to LED bulbs though these days.

Is there a reflector over the high beam bulb as well ? Hard to see in the video but looks like there is none. Asking cause the previous owner of my car painted the inside of the high beam black and i am going to attempt to remove the paint and noticed mine have no reflector over the high beam.

Oh.. good question... I don't have a w202 in the driveway to check at the moment , and don't recall if it had a reflector.. I'll check one at the wreckers as soon as I can

The c280 is a nice reliable car...make sure you use the proper Mercedes recommended fluids and oils when doing the maintenance and you will be fine

I have a 1995 C220. The same thing happened to my lens but on the passenger side. Everything is pretty much the same except for the part at 3:09 in the video with the plastic trim piece.. It is different on the passenger side. Does anyone know how to get this piece off so I can get to the last screw to remove the lens. Thanks!

no ..the newer models don't have a replaceable lens..you may be able to get the old one out by heating up the adhesive with a hair dryer or heat gun , but you can't buy the lens separately
