I sold the white E350 as many already know and bought this former taxi cab. This is the first part of restoring it back to glory.
Short information about the new ride!
Mercedes-Benz E-Class W212 E220 BlueTec 9G Tronic. Manufactured 2016-04 & first time in traffic 2016-09
I bought this from the capital in Sweden (Stockholm) I did pay 8500 euro with home delivery. The car is running really good but the engine lamp indicate a bad nox sensor. So I probably change that soon.
Other then that is actually not much issues, only minor things to change out. The gearbox 9G is working flawlessly.
It has been at MB 17 times for normal service and two times the gearbox oil been changed.

Hi there! I love your videos! :) I own a W212 and appreciate the work that you do so much. Could you possibly tell me, are those genuine Mercedes rubber floor mats, and if so, do they have a part number? I would love a set like that for my 350, but cannot find anything that covers the footrest and has such a large retaining lip around the outside. :) Thanks in advance! (Edit: I have watched part 2. They are taxi floor mats? I will try and look them up!)

Thanks! Mainly because I wanted a new challenge, the white was in excellent condition and not much more I wanted to do with the car. And also with diesel price and everything else going up these days is nice to drive a cheaper car for a while!

@@MB212 Feel sorry for the adblue problems. In my Insignia I had to replace both NOX (€350 each) and the adblue pump (€700). And the car's mileage is 120,000 km ...

@@bjarnieinarsson3472 Because sensor ir piece of crap. All I know with facelift diesel SCR, all had Nox failed. And as I understand the more you operate the car, the more you need to change is not a lifetime part. Everything would be ok, but Merc is greedy and asks 500 euro for 1 sensor.

i think that merc has been washed a lot and used to get washed more than avg cars because its a taxi. it should be clean at all times but still sikc

Engine failure at 570.000 km, transmission was flawless. Also overall shape was really good.

Usually just some multipurpose clean same as for home etc nothing fancy is needed in my mind.

The engine is not good sound, I think is a timing chain or some fuel injector? Bad chain is a regularly problem OM651

@@mikefrith8862 Yes, but knocking is not normal. Timing chain is usually changed in 250,000-300,000 km

If the chain is stretched or the chain tensioner it generally makes noise on start up only and the noise goes away once the tensioner gets oil preassure.

There might be worn chain guides which is very uncommon on these but for this mileage probably not impossible. Checking or taking of the accessory belt first to check if the noise goes away would be a good idea to start tho. Might just be a bad alternator pulley and some other pulleys
