Mercedes W213 System Reset Cluster LCD Disaster

I did this on my Eclass, and you're correct. Nothing needs to be replaced. They have to run a software patch to restore the "connection" to the head unit. All of the features still work, but the headunit won't register the functions. The software patch at the dealer took about 2 hours real time. I literally just had this done a couple of days ago. When you go in, just tell them that you need a software patch.

Dealerships lying to customers like that should be considered a crime. Idk how they can legally lie like that to rip people off and steal their hard earned money. All they need to do is, is go to the setting with their universal pass code and enable everything back to normal. This whole BS we need to take this and get to this wire is literally a lie!!!

I also reset the settings in this way, almost all the functions of the car disappeared !!! Tried a lot of things - nothing helped! only through the official computer were they able to overwrite the zeroed blocks, the process went on for almost 2 hours !!!

Sorry did not know this thing happened to you, Best solution is go back to dealer to get it fixed by their tool. If warranty expired: just ask them do one SCN online coding of your Comand system, usually they charge around $100-200. If still under warranty, free. If your dealer really can not help like you experienced, or ask you change this and that: cheapest way to solve this issue is: buy one enet cable ($10-20 off ebay or Amazon) and a windows laptop (if you don’t have, $99 from Walmart), then look for a Mercedes remote coder ($100-200 for their service fee). Like 10-20 min job done.

I am having the same issue now. Steering wheel adjustments stopped functioning and I have found an information about doing reset would fix the problem. I did system reset from the dealer menu and many features are gone as you mentioned. Just click one button and damage to the car is horrible. I do not know what to do now. I have tried to reach out to benzninja, filled out the rent form etc, no response. I have an appointment from the dealership for the next week. If anyone have a solution, please comment here. I live in Los Angeles so let me know if any place can fix this issue.

I took the car to Mercedes and they changed me with £250 to update the sistem ( least, now looks a little bit better, more modern)

OMG i thought i was the only one who did this it was a mess luckily i knew a service tac and they reloaded what i Reset aka delete "free"

I stuck the same 😂. My gps buging me for 3 days,so decide to factory reset. I did not know that this is possible with reset.... Anybody fix ?? Share pls

This happened to me today: the dealership said they are going to charge a $250 diagnostic fee whether I get it fixed by them or not. They will tell me how much it will cost after the diagnosis.

I take my car to the dealer I did the same and was 170£ to fix the issue. U just need to do software updates.

dealerships always trying to screw the very people who keep them alive let me tell you this one other time i sold my 2000 S500 to my uncle and i installed lowering links when i got the car but he didn't like them whet to the dealership and they told him someone cut the springs and would need to replace all 4 ? can you believe that i told my uncle you have air shocks on that car and they couldn't be cut ever !!!!

You need to get a reload. 150 dollar reset. Don’t rest anymore

You need command software update, no big deal. Cost round 150$

Mercedes Dealer will do it for free. Dont tell them that u reset the system. They will update the software.
