@@blackfalcon1610 I think it was easier making money at LS just because of the volume of freight, and not paying for trailer rental means one less deductible expense. I was only there two months though and the market was cooling off, but the industry rates were better than they are now. I would give the slight nod to Landstar especially if you’ve built the relationships.

Mercer is the only company I've ever worked for that sued me for turning in an undamaged trailer. Because I left when they didn't have enough work

Was thinking about joining Mercer, but when i heard about that first in first out policy and how it works i change my mind instantly. its a way to cap your earning potential. informative video bro keep posting.

@@dwaynemattis383 thanks. Yeah I’m still figuring it out. Sometimes I’ve found it’s better to sit and build that dwell time which goes against all my beliefs and what I’ve always been taught. It’s a gamble for sure.

Some companies are a bit ridiculous… I might be wrong, but I believe Landstar won’t haul 1.1D without a co-driver per company policy. Landstar definitely doesn’t haul tankers a lot, but I swear I’ve seen it a few times. Also, I see Landstar hauling a lot more OD loads than Mercer, or maybe that’s just me. Also, quite a few loads can be double brokered if you run for Landstar, so a private carrier will pay through the roof for you to move their freight.
