I'm blown away by people wondering why puzzle pieces were being used instead of fold-out. Seemed obvious to me that these could be changed out potentially to change the art/locations/etc... excited to see if the expansions change peoples minds on the gameplay or not.
The only thing I beg you is to please include errata in your expansion if you do a reprint and fix anything in the game or make it an update pack we can purchase!
Regarding your comment that the "puzzle pieces" format of the board is a "little wired"... I have several other games in my collection whose mounted boards are put together as puzzle pieces. And the thing they all have in common over the typical folded mounted board, is that when assembled, the "puzzle pieces" board will lay *perfectly flat*! What a joy that is.
I have to admit I am a little bummed at how many lower reviews this game has received. My all in arrives tomorrow. I am trying to decide to open and try or just sell? I have no lack of games to play, so if this is not a home run I am afraid it may not get played.
I felt the same. We played it and really enjoyed it. It suits my wife and I well, and was a fun puzzle. Try it first mate, you might find it hits the right points for you :)
It's funny because our group found the shortcut super valuable. The rewards you get from leading the journeys are the best in the game and the shortcut gives you two. One of those being an illuminated die which is basically equivalent to an extra action. That's huge!!!
Hey Alex, I would highly highly suggest watching James Hoffman's video on the ultimate Aeropress technique. His channel is incredible and it is by far and away the number 1 youtube channel out there for us coffee lovers. His videos are brilliant and he's well worth a sub. ......just don't go down the same route as me and end up spending faaaaar too much money on an espresso set up as well as a kickstarter addiction xD
Nothing wrong with an Italian machine for a couple grand since they're lifetime investments properly maintained. We've had ours for two years now and the journey of learning to dial-in and properly froth milk has been excellent. No longer need to run to a coffee shop for a latte or americano which ends up saving money over time and pays for itself. Plus the moment you impress guests with your mastery of latte art is quite exquisite. :D
I missed out on the campaign, couldn’t afford another game at the time, now I’m definitely planning to get the full deluxe set from the site. I just hope it’ll still be available in about a week once I can afford it.
About the French press-Research has shown that drinking five cups of coffee daily over 4 weeks from a French press brewing method can increase blood cholesterol levels by 6 to 8 percent.The coffee is not filtered so this is the reason why . I am still thinking if i should buy one :) If it not every day i think it is just fine :) Just my “doctor’s thinking “is getting in the way
I'd never heard of this game, but it is gorgeous. As my mom likes to say, "Sometimes it's nice to own quality", and regardless of how it plays, it certainly checks off that "quality" box. Great work by Elf Creek.
Loved this video! Great preview of what will arrive sometime when CAN gets their items. I do find that components will help elevate my game play and immersion. Cheers!
I didn't back the game but seeing the component quality has my jaw on the floor. Such a shame that the reviews haven't been as positive for the game mechanics as the production.

Thanks for sharing the box contents. It is indeed a gorgeous game. Still, that alone isn't enough to earn a spot on the game shelf. I'm hopeful it'll merit playing many times. Having not played it yet, I'm intrigued by your concern about the choice/reward for taking the shortcut vs dark road path on a travel action. I understand that there's a different order to the rewards selection, and extra bonuses for the leader when taking a short cut. I'm not sure I understand how you came to the conclusion that there wasn't enough difference in those choices. The game does feature some new "spins" on its combination of mechanics. I look forward to seeing how those play out and spark my interest. Again, thanks. I always enjoy and learn from your channel. :-)
Lol your biased. But in all honesty, I'm very torn because of the expansion. In its current form, it's a game I like, but won't play over others. But I definitely enjoyed it enough, to wonder if an expansion bumps it up to a four... But how long do I hold on to the game hoping for the expansion?
