radio in the background drove me nuts. There are bellows install tools that work much better than bbq tongs and wood blocks but hey, props for ingenuity. For bleeding the air out of the oil monitor line there is a dribble valve on the rear face of the bell housing and if you push in on that is will allow oil to flow from the monitor reservoir. The magnet on the lower oil plug is not there to solve any problem it is there to give you an indicator of how much wear or damage there may be on your lower unit. glitter in the oil is normal. larger chunks of steel indicate you are headed for catastrophic failure. Aside from what I have mentioned this is a pretty solid video of the order of installation. Don't forget to use an alignment tool to verify your engine is correctly aligned with your gimbal bearing.

hello regarding loosing gear oil. I changed my gear oil first . empty the reservoir then took the plugs off vent plug and bottom screw start pumping gear oil until i saw oil coming from the vent plug screw the plug in and screw the bottom plug then I went and filled the reservoir . NOW I AM LOOSING OIL AND I DONT SEE IT ANYWHERE ... Do you think i have air in the system ??? please help..
I have a 03 trophy pro with the 4.3 in outboard. I had gushing leak so i replaced the bellows and took it in for the whole kit. still have the leak but its not gushing in like it was but still coming in. any ideas what it could be.
Only a few ways water gets in, bellows not seated correctly or the plug is leaking...but since you're not getting the amount of water before, you need to check if everything is correctly and clamps are tight.
+Joseph Thompson thanks for replying this quick. I kind of figured the clamp wasn't sitting correctly. they are not perfectly around the bellows. they kind of sitting in an angle. thanks again.
