I watched all of your videos of this rebuild. You have excellent production quality with the videos! I have been rebuilding my Alpha 1 Gen 1 right along with you. I am an aircraft mechanic by trade and this is my first experience with boat drives. Very intimidated at first to tackle this but being able to watch you go through everything gave me more confidence I can do this. Showing part numbers with everything is a big plus! I was able to fabricate some of the tooling myself and that helped with costs. Some I bought however. I am currently working on my lower unit. Just recently got the bearing carrier pulled out. I adapted a puller I had to get it pulled out. It was very difficult and hoped I didn't have to go through the drilling and chiseling of it. Thankfully mine eventually came free and removed it in one piece. My drive is off a 1974 Wellcraft (165HP) and have no knowledge of it ever being torn down this far. So I hope all my gears, bearings, and shafts are still in good enough condition to reuse. Also love the work station. So very clean as it should be. You deserve a sponsorship from Craftsman!
