I just shot this. Mercury passing in front of the sun. Astrobiscuit is nearly back from a year long of intense drudgery and working weekends... but hoping to do some more vids soon.;-)
@@martin_meme3100 I'm working on it... Might have bitten off more than i can chew... Trying to make a complete professional astro set up for just 600quid... And its not proving easy😬
Ok..I subscribed. You are nerdy in the good way. One thing is for sure..your videos are well done and it is clear that You put in a great effort. I appreciate that. You really pack it in.
Just found you yesterday and I've already seen most of your videos. You're absolutely brilliant. I've always been impressed by the night sky but I never knew it was possible to see and photograph the things that you are showing with a cheap setup. I was quite put off by other RU-vid videos because they use expensive and/or large equipment. The way you do it is MASSIVELY MOTIVATING AND APPRECIATED!!! I've never watched through a telescope myself and I always thought it was very expensive. Initially I was thinking of buying something expensive. The other helpful thing that you're showing is "how to" do it and get some results, because beginners can get demotivated very easily. What makes your videos attractive is that you're making astronomy simple, accessible and affordable for average people. Man, you've saved me from spending way too much, and I'm sure you've got me into the hobby without having seen through a telescope ever. Can't wait to repeat some of your projects. It would be helpful though to make some sort of summarizing video for absolute beginners to show them what equipment, software and apps you use for different goals like planetary imaging, deep sky objects, timelapse videos and all that, because the various things can be overwhelming. Anyway, thanks for your fantastic videos, these are highly appreciated
Thx luuk😁 yeh i must make a simple how to choose equipment videow... Anyway im in a restaurant and mrs buscuit has told me to het off the phone so ill answer soon😂
VERY HOT! it would be nice to see a future Mercury transit with a bit more detail, maybe with some color, if magic is possible. Astrobiscuit is just amazing! Bravo
@@Astrobiscuit looks like a Jupiter Venus conjunction soon, but gonna have to be a short focal legth scope and a big sensor to get both in the fov. Still looking into whether or not I can get both of them in the fov
Thank you for being back. Please make a Video on the low budget solarscopes you used. Next year is solar eclipse Time in far far away land (Argentine, Chile)....there fore it will bankrupt me to go there....
Ok its on the list. Basically the ha solar scope was a pst that i got fot 250 and modded. The calcium and sodium scopes are much cheaper. I used tiny 12mm diameter diode laser filters and wedged them over the sensor...
Hi Astrobiscuit! I absolutely love your budget astrophotography series! Will you be doing any more of those? Here's an idea for a budget episode - old M42 mount lenses! eBay is full of these old gems, like the Pentax Takumar 300mm F4, and the Hoya 200mm F3.5, very cheap, and perfect for budget AP!
You have done videos capturing the usual suspects, mars, Jupiter, Saturn. Can you do videos trying to capture the harder ones, like mercury, Uranus, Neptune. I know Venus isn't very interesting, but capture it too. I plan to get a scope that will let me image the sun and each planet, so I can print them out and make a book called the Solar System Family. Or maybe hang them as 8x10's in my garage.
Yeh im still posting but work got in the way for a year and it takes me too long to make them but a big one coming v soon and a little one about binos coming too. 135 is a great lens. I don't kniw the 800d but i expect it'll be good
I watched the transit at our observatory. You should join our society. Google Hampstead scientific society. I am also an eclipse chaser. Would be nice to meet you some time. I am in London as well
Astrobiscuit .. yeah... but you know, just seeing that little black dot and knowing that its actually Planet Mercury makes it a ‘Special little Black Dot’ dun-nit? 😂😂, .. well done capturing it 😊
