PSA: At the 1st sign of disrespect, slacking or hindrance from a stylist just get ya stuff and go. Dont wait until u have a half done head or see that u dont like it when its done.

I specialized in hair color correction for 30 years. When I had a new client I always took pictures of their jacked hair in natural light and provided a receipt so they could contact the salon responsible for the mess and ask for a refund. And I always followed up to the salon owner to offer free hair color classes to their staff. There’s more than enough clients for all of us so I could afford to give my education away for free.

What she not understanding is that stylist doesn’t like her!!

The Stylist was wrong.💯 My daughter owns a Nail & Hair salon. I've been doing hair for over 25 years. There have been so many people come to have problems fixed that were caused by other Stylist & Nail Techs. Must take pride in your work & be professional 💯

I have NEVER paid that much for a wig or for anyone to ever install a wig for me and if I ever did, I would never pay that much. I’m talking way less than $100. And for that lady with the platinum hair, I would never trust that girl in my head ever again. It’s just too much to mess up.

Never thought I’d ever agree with the stylist. The 2nd girl, that was majority her fault. YOU bought a too small wig. If you do hair for a living, then you should’ve known even cutting the wig/lace to make it fit still does not guarantee a comfortable fit OR if it does fit, lifting would start to occur sooner than usual…I know from experience. Regarding the crimps…I think it was a mixture of both. For her blonde hair to burn that easily, definitely a chemical & processing issue. Even if the stylist had the heat tool on low, she still left it on too long which would’ve led to burning if she wasn’t paying attention. After all of that, I wouldn’t have rescheduled ESPECIALLY if I know how to do hair for a living. I would’ve just took my L and moved on.

This is why people are learning to do things on their own. Too many horror stories, overpriced services and rude customer service. Stylists need to be humble, don't support their businesses...Even nail salons but we all want to be pampered. Learn to do at home gel polish.

I am glad i dont have your hair problems. I just sympathize all the pain you all go through to find a qualified stylist. The only problem i had with a stylist is she took it upon herself to cut my long hair to my bra strap. My hair was passed my lower back. Never went back and that was almost 40-years ago. My hair grows slow. Since then i just do my own hair.

As a stylist I should make videos because if you ONLY KNEW😂 ITS more clients full of mess than business owners. They say they want shampoo then turn around ask for a discount if they do it themselves. They'll buy low quality hair and then blame you. Bring they kids and then beat you getting mad about correcting them or speaking up about them causing damage

I've learned my lesson with second chances.....

Some lessons hopefully learned on both sides from the blond girl’s story. Don’t bring a too small wig to be installed. Don’t cut a too small, 900.00 wig to install it. If you feel something, like heat too long on hair, say something then. Treat your customer the way you want to be treated, etc. Anyway, thank you for sharing Jodi, you always have good commentary ❤.

I used to get my hair done often (seeing as how stylists be treating their customers and the prices, I think I’m going to finally learn how to do my hair) and I have only had two really bad experiences. The first time was when I was… dang, I don’t remember… but I believe I was 12 or 13, and because my hair became completely unmanageable (it used to be super super thick), my mom wanted to get my hair done for school. One elderly lady took me to an amazing stylist for the first time I had my hair done. She did such a beautiful job, we learned that my hair had streaks in it. Red ones that were very visible. She thought I had dyed my hair but I never could do my own hair. Anyways, the follow up was with this young woman at a JC Penny’s salon. She claimed to know how to do hair. She decided to put a sulfur based perm in my hair… she asked me if I scratched my head. I was so new to perms, I only had one other one done and my grandma was so furious about it and I never had it done again. My grandma was old school, she would use a hot comb on my hair. This lady put the perm in my head and I was burning really really bad. I ended up screaming like I was being murdered. Women who were waiting for other stylists thought she was killing me. Some got up and walked out. She didn’t do anything for a while. Finally she finished my head and it hurt. It hurt BAD! My mom can do her hair and up until my hair became difficult she used to do mine too. She wondered why I was still in tears and why my head burned. When she took a look at the back of my head, she freaked out. Apparently it looked as if my scalp was bleeding. My mom marched me back to the stylist and demanded her money back. My mom was real street when she needed to be. She was taking off her earrings and was ready to fight. She showed the receptionist my head and she was very upset. She admitted it look really bad. By that time, I had bumps on my scalp. From the moment she saw what happened, she cut my mother a check and told the stylist that she had used dirty hair clippers on my head. That’s why my scalp looked so bad. Years later, I found out that not long afterwards she ended up fired because she may have went to cosmetology school but she was not a stylist and she had ruined quite a few clients heads.

I had a stylist that did my hair so bad one time. It was supposed to be a sew-in with Chinese bangs. She had the damn Chinese bands on my forehead chile. I was so heated I could have literally went to jail that day. She acted like she didn’t know what was wrong. I don’t do hairstylist that don’t operate in integrity.

These prices are highway robbery 😮 I am too frugal for this that's rent money! She needs to sue her and get the deposit, first hair appointment amount and court fees back!

It's so cringe that these so wig stylists get the title hairstylist! They are the death of the Black Hair Industry, which is why they are allowed to open these businesses. As a 20+ yr licensed Cosmetologist, I'm so thankful for them! They keep me booked fixing their mess ups. But what I don't like is how the clients are shell-shocked because of the lack of customer service and care. But I digress ❤

I was forced to learn how to do my hair because I couldn't find anyone who was professional. I gave up after they were late 30-40 minutes on appointments. Now I see it could have gotten worse.

We need to start writing reviews on these stylist and being honest on social media. Their policies and deposit are beyond ridiculous, I suffer with alopecia and prefer to walk around with a hat on….

The Second Lady is crazy for paying that much money. With the wig costing $900 and something dollars and paying $470 for services. I would have went to a professional shop or should I say someone who actually went to school to do hair. She Is very beautiful and I see that she really care about her appearance, but someone not making you their first priority when paying that much money I would have left her place and went home. She would have been better off doing her own hair. I would be mad too. The first female I would have pay for and Uber or Lyft and to my tail home. I would have let that girl keep that $20 and she would have been blocked.
