WATCH IN HD!
I have wanted to create a Meredith Grey character study to highlight her intense character and the incredible journey she has been on.
Then when I was searching through Christmas wishlists, I found Eminemgirl814 had asked for a Meredith Grey video.
So this is for you hun, I know we don't know eachother but you gave me the motivation I needed to create this video, and its dedicated to you. I really hope you like it, Happy Christmas!
I have shown the relationships between M+her Mum, M+her Dad, M+Christina, M+Chief, M+Derek, M+Lexie, (briefly) M+Alex.
I wanted to highlight her 'dark and twisty' side and show how she was so damged by the people around her growing up.
Love the 2nd to last scene I included with Chief/Meredith. She finally heard the truth.
I didn't want to focus soley on MerDer (though they are great) but wanted to showcase her other relationships more.

The concept of Meredith Drowning and deciding to just let herself drown might be very far-fetched to a lot of people, in the sense that no one believes a human being would stop swimming in that kind of situation. But for those who have the sensibility and life experience to understand, this very concept is the most direct, clear and candid path to the depiction of people just like Meredith Grey.

I really like what you have to say here. It sounds like you have a lot of insight. Would you please be more specific, and elaborate on what you mean when you say "people just like Meredith Grey'? I mean, are you referring to people who are very depressed, or have just had overall miserable life experiences, or to people who have a lot of repressed issues but constantly mask them and pretend that they're 'fine' all of the time? I ask because, as a novelist, I like to have as much understanding of different character types as possible and it seems like you have a great understanding of a specific character type that I'd like to learn more about. Thank you, ahead of time.

themorbidhunger I think what she means is people who are depressed to some degree maybe dysthymia so it appears to just be part of the package of who they are as a person rather than someone who is ill or has had many adverse life experiences. Many people online describe merideth as whiny for example and miserable but these could be symptoms instead. I also think the comment or may be referring to that fact that merideth has suicidal ideation but she is passively suicidal. What I mean by that is I think that merideth wouldn’t move out of the way if she was in the path of an oncoming truck but if she was next to it’s path she wouldn’t step in front of it either. She stops doing something in order to die but she doesn’t actually take action such as slitting her wrist or taking an overdose.

@@themorbidhunger It's not specifically people who are depressed I think. Sometimes, you just get tired, mentally. When everything is spinning out of control and after every hurdle you manage to pass by, is another one. To me, sometimes it feels like I'm juggling so many things, family, work, finances,... and the moment I lose track of one thing, the entire structure will fall. Sometimes living is just exhausting. I go to bed and wake up tired. In her case, she's been struggling, juggling her love life, friends, mother. She's exhausted. I fully understand why somebody would then think 'why can't I just rest now'. It's less about depression and more about being overwhelmed with life

I felt an immediate connection with Meredith the second I watched the first episode. She's so strong despite her faults and wounds, and hats off to Ellen Pompeo! Meredith is who she is because of her portrayal. There will be only one like her.

This is actually INCREDIBLE. The best Meredith Grey video I've ever seen, and trust me it's an understatement to say I've seen lots! I found this to be "dark and twisty" and haunting but also breath-taking and beautiful!

I have been a Greys Anatomy fan for over a decade and I love your character study video. It was very well done and I do love Meredith Grey's character. She may be dark and twisty but she's honest, compassionate and she's smart. Meredith is the one who brings people together and helps make them be better. Thank you for this wonderful video! she's not the good person you all are thinking of. I'm not saying Meredith didn't felt enough pain (everyone does), I'm just saying that she did so many bad things to others I don't even know why people love her so much. George, for example, has been ruined by this evil woman.

George? George wasn't no victim, he damn well knew that she was in love with Derek, she was vulnerable and drunk and he took advantage of her but yet still act like he was innocent and allow her to feel guilty for months and turned their friends against her. After months of guilt, he realized what he had done to her and apologized to her season 2 episode 27. He also cheated on Callie, who loved him so much and treated him with respect so George was the evil one. Meredith has been through a lot yes, but she was one of the kindest person on there.

neha doe I’m not always the biggest Meredith fan but I don’t think she’s the worst character. I think she has a lot of flaws which is refreshing in a main character because many don’t seem to, they are always really perfect and she’s not. Sometimes I will agree that she can be very rude to people but she’s never been a horrible person even after all the bad that has happened to her. I use to hate mer and I figured out recently why. She is very similar to me with the fact that our parents didn’t want us and many deaths have circled around us. Now of course you have a right to not like her and everything just thought I’d explain a different view on the character.
