I love this label. The people that run it, the attitude, the albums released on it, and the bands that belong to it. Spoon, Neutral Milk Hotel, Arcade Fire, Mike Krol, Destroyer, The Mountain Goats, the list goes on. Great job, Merge. You've done well. Here's to the next 25!

While big bloated commercial D.A.P. (Disposable audio products) suck more and more, Merge continues to produce actual music.

I remember running to Record Exchange picking up those weekly mags just to keep up the news back then. It was a huge part of music culture back then. Chapel Hill bands were my favorite back then and still in rotation today on my play lists.

It's really cool that Merge has survived and stayed true to their indie roots. A lot of the indie labels are defunct now with the emergence of Itunes. Mac and Laura are kind of the ultimate gen-x 90's artist entrepreneurs that lived out a dream to make a living making music and helping other make music. I know some people from the Athens scene that did it for many years and just couldn't sustain that lifestyle. Lot of gen-xer's ended up going to work for big corporations. It would be interesting to know much profit they made from Arcade Fire - suburbs.

Mr. Mould said it best. The business model of music at least in my mind seemed so elementary during the Eighties and Nineties as Oppose to now. It may seem easier now with i-tunes spotify sound cloud. Perhaps putting some raw version of your best music may be easy to put and have listened to on these platforms its a whole different beast to generate a fan base and have a pressing distributed or an Engineered Recording distributed. All of which as of then requires lots of mammon (money). So I'm guessing it just feels that way. Man I miss analogue and that warmth. Its just super fast nowadaze and if your not. Just give it back to the Gods/Goddess' of Music. I'm trying to say something I think, but got lost in thought. Going on 30 now right? Regardless thats awesome Merge. Who knew?😚👂👌👏👍🏽🙌🤘✌

Actions are always better than words. That's why it's so important to Pray. All the praises and prayers you send up let's God know you are serious. you don't have to talk it all the time just pray it. God bless you. Jacqueline Rhett and family. When you talk to Him, let Him know you are series, now let's get busy, on our knees, OK. Jaçkie. Rhett. I love you all. Thank S.
