I had several occasions when I’m trying to merge down the highway at the same rate of speed as the posted speed limit, 18 wheeler semi trucks would aggressively speed pass me over the right most lane breaking the speed limits and putting me in a dangerous situation with their trailers almost crashing my car towards the barrier.
You’re an idiot you need to adjust your speed to whatever speed you need to merge into the spot that has the opening for you to do so. Do you wanna play chicken with us and 18 wheelers so sad too bad for you buddy cause we’re gonna win that every time.
Either slow down and get behind or match the flow of traffic which is required your supposed to merge in an open gap going with the flow of traffic even if that is speeding

Even in states where it is not law.....Co-operation based zipper merging has given drivers a sense of privilege that they are owed a merge in ALL situations. When they are actually owed nothing more than common courtesy. Always try to help other drivers in need. But never give an inch to drivers that try to bully you or use your natural desire for safety against you. People that do give in to aggressive drivers only make them worse for the rest of us.

As a truck driver, I wish everyone in America would learn this concept. Merging traffic does not have right of way. Vehicles already occupying the traffic lanes have right of way in their lanes. It is the merger’s responsibility not to run into or wreck others already on the road.
People will block you from getting in and refuse to switch lanes. Be courteous to other people that drive on the road with you, dying because you want to be right is a stupid choice.
Going the speed limit isn’t the same as blocking you from merging. You either go in front of or behind the driver already in the lane. Dying because you are ignorant is not worth it.
@@user-pb5gy4ig3v 95% of the time I see someone prevented from merging its because the car next to them decides to speed up and tailgate or slow down with the merging car to block them in. Speed matching should be a crime as well, the amount of times I've had that happen where a car or truck will speed up or slow down to prevent me from merging or changing lanes. I've been run off the road two dozen times this year alone by people doing that, several times by gigantic box trucks, and forced to miss my turn several dozen more times by this practice.
@@Bryce_Fl, I’m sure thats a small minority of people. It’s the emerging cars responsibility to find a spot in my state at least. I’ve had like half a dozen people merge right on top of me this year alone. People are idiots.
