Ella finally gets to meet her Merida! More pictures from the trip are here: www.flickr.com/... . The album is a work in progress. I'll have all the pictures up by mid-May, I hope.
I met Merida because I have hair just like her (except brown) and the second she saw me she said, "I LOVE YOUR HAIR! Do things ever get lost in them?" It's like she knew the struggles of actually living with curly hair.
Figment -The disneyworld epcot ride True, but I'm not old enough to work as a face character. My hair, however, is the color of belle's but curly like Mother Gothels.
This is my girlfriend playing merida she loves her job and she so good at it to she been doing it for a long time she says it's not even work it's more like playing and she getting paid she a sweet lady on work and off work
Thank you I will tell her she even does birthday parties for a good price so I will talk to her I don't know her scheduled with all the new Disney movies comeing out she still very popular girl lol there 4 new costume charter comeing to Disneyland but she still going to be busy lady but she loves it
This cast member needs work on her scottish accent... Doesn't really sound like Merida. I read that Disney cast members watch the Disney movies and go through training to act like their character, for example Snow White: high pitched yet kind voice and mannerisms, Alice: british accent and talking about the white rabbit or unbirthdays, Rapunzel: bubbly and outgoing, etc. Cast members need to get up earlier than any other employee in the parks because they need to get into costume and makeup before the normal work day.
Often, face characters will be several different characters within their span of work. Maybe this girl was usually a Rapunzel or something, so she wasn't so keen on Merida.
Don't be sad I'm over weight and I get looks when i dress as a skinny character I even had a couple weebs say I was a disgrace to the character but I do said character because I like them
Remember that if the accent was thick and "realistic", younger kids might not be able to understand her! The slight accent works well and still gives the kids that magic :)
Caitlin Romich I was really bummed when I met Merida and I was speaking more Scottish than her, despite living in central Scotland (we don’t have highlander accents)
You could tell that little girl was in heaven meeting her favorite character. That is all that matters and the point of it all. Not a perfect accent, nor any other trifling. The KID was swept up in the moment and she'll NEVER forget it. As a parent, the world can be a cruel place, let the kid have her moment with her Heroine, it will mean the world to her!
I bet 20 bucks if her accent had been thicker this comment section would be full of "OMG RAYCIZM" comments. Would you just shut up about her accent. She made this little girl happy, so be satisfied.
Now come on everyone! To do a scottish accent is not the easiest thing in the world!Of course, she needs more practice, but at least this woman is doing the best she could as Merida C:
Her accent could obviously use work, but it doesn't really matter when you're a kid. As long as they're kind and happy and look just like your favorite character if you're a kid you're happy too. I remember being a kid and meeting Mickey Mouse at Coney Island. Of course it wasn't the real Mickey, but I was thrilled because I love Mickey Mouse and the guy was probably really nice (I don't remember much but I still have the picture) It's just a nice memory to have. So as long as Little Merida gets a nice memory who really cares about her accent
Why were they being all awkward, saying she couldn't wear the little girl's shoes because they were custom-made? It was a JOKE, people! She handled it excellently.
I mean I've got time for Snow and Cinders and Ariel but give me a red headed feisty Scottish minx any time. Merida is Best princess. I will fight you to defend her honour 😀
Guys. Do you really think children give a single * frick * about their accent? She's actic like Merida, with a lot of energy and a bright smile, so she's perfect for the role.
Don't let anyone keep you from having fun. Seriously. Some people won't get what you do no matter what your race may be. You aren't here to please them. I bet your Hatsune Miku was killer.
i know this is late and you may have gone already but cosplay who you want :) I am going to cosplay merida this year and i know people are going to be picky about me not having blue eyes or my dress doesnt have a certain detail but i am going to cosplay her proudly because i love the character :)
All of you are cracked to think she has to portray anything other than a Scottish flavor. (Watch Outlander those aren't full on accents and they get paid way more)
