Just put in for my BF to get one of these and it's such a joy to hear him play! The amount of times he watched this video and now he has his own is so sweet. Thank you for inspiring him man! Much love!
I am 53 years old. Back when I was a teenager, I loved listening to Pat Metheny, Adrian Belew, and Robert Fripp experiment with guitar synthesizers in the 1980's. I always thought the Roland units were cool. I am much more skilled with a guitar over a keyboard. I am glad to see the technology has progressed.
"You're travelling through another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind; a journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination - Next stop, the PEDAL ZONE!" And a balloon for the Zone.🎈
you probably dont care at all but does anyone know a way to get back into an instagram account?? I was stupid lost my login password. I appreciate any tips you can give me!
@Kameron Desmond thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and im in the hacking process now. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
This pedal is really cool, by itself or that reverb pedal, but realize that live or with a band you’ll need a midi switcher. Also( my experience) to take it out live and think you’re gonna use it a lot, you will need to really learn the pedal just like a instrument. Why do most guitarists get a good overdrive, and a good wah, and maybe a delay ?? because those sound changers are mainly intuitive( maybe delay less so) and I’ve never heard a pedal REALLY chase down a high end, pro keyboardist. Still this pedal is worth it because you can eliminate the synth section, and there are many distinctive sounds available anyway. But you’ll need a mini midi mouse at least to store settings, otherwise live you’ll have to really sweat adjusting the knobs for different settings/sounds
@@johnsmits2494 youre right and more reviewers could mention that. thats true for any midi capable pedal actually. Strymon, Meris, and Eventide pedals all require a midi controller of some kind to get the most out of because switching to different sounds can be difficult. I can tel you from experience, the Meris pedals can be tricky to dial in and you are gonna want to save your setting when you find cool ones!
The final jam that you built layer by layer is a masterpiece. Absolutely masterful layering and nuanced creativity using the effects you wield at your disposal. This is honestly inspiring beyond measure. Thank you for gracing my little ears with beautiful music.
I picked up the guitar because of Eric Johnson. Somehow along the way, my passion for it died. Then I got to watch this video and I got so inspired, that I want pick up where I left off. Your playing style is very musical. I'd love to hear more of your original pieces. Please let me know if you have a band/album. Thanks a lot!
I can see this pedal becoming the next big thing. I play both guitar and synth, and from the demos I can tell there's still a lot this pedal can offer me. Imagine combining something as expressive as guitar, with the possibility of sound design of synth. My goodness...
I bought one of these almost a year ago and I finally decided to take a couple hours last night to read the manual front-to-back. It’s an amazingly powerful pedal that’s an instrument on its own. Great vid as always!
Enzo is most definitely an instrument in its own right, and requires the same time, care and effort to get the most out of it. Happy to hear you like it. It's an all-time favorite pedal of mine :)
You're so inspiring as a musician and a person, i love how passionately you describe music and how authentic and amazing these videos are! By far my favorite musician on youtube
They truly are! Every single release by Meris has been a home run, in my book. Stoked to hear you're enjoying them as well, and I'm honored that my videos helped to put this amazing brand on your radar ☺
I've already preordered one (last one in shipment to Australia incidentally), and this demo confirms my decision way beyond any doubt. I have to say I haven't been so blown away by a pedal in a long, long time. It's like a whole lot of dreams come true - dreams I never thought possible for a designer to fulfil. This pedal seems to have realised everything I envisaged, and more. AMAZING. And in such a comparatively small package.
I am a decade long student of guitar, and what u said about being a synth minded guitar player sums up my experience. Just played live on a nord stage 2 ex and it brought me back to the joys I felt when discovering and mastering the lead part to sweet child o mine! You have a great perspective for people like me. Thanks for the great and inspiring demo!!! PS. I bought a meteore promptly after watching your demo a year ago!
Stefan you’re awesome! You’re the perfect person to demo these pedals, such an appreciation for melody and showing them off to the best of their ability.
I like how you showcased so many different sounds, yet still barely scratched the surface of this beast. Secondary Functions, Global Functions, Midi I/O, Expression Pedal, Filter Modes, my head is spinning...
Yup, I feel exactly the same. This is my most extensive demo to date, and I've definitely only scratched the surface of Enzo. So much awesomeness in that thing ❤
Meris pedals are simply amazing, and the Enzo is just the latest example. Meris' pedals are more than just pedals or stompboxes - they are full-bodied instruments in their own right. This is a great short tour of this exciting new pedal/instrument, but an informative one. Thanks.
Your ambient and sincere playing style complements this pedal perfectly! I play bass with a cello like approach and this would be majestic to hear with my style of playing.
Phenomenal demo! Not only is the playing and composition right on it plays with the effects so well. Very detailed intelligent review. This is a great benchmark for the quality of this effects pedal. You blissing out during you ending jam made my day. Thank you.
Oh wow! Thank you so much for these incredibly kind words about my demo. It's difficult not to bliss out when you're playing such an amazing pedal like Enzo. There was just an instant magical connection to be found. Thank you for watching and commenting. Really means a lot to me ❤
I'm new to independently exploring the guitar world without influence of othera. I completely agree with you on what you spoke on in the beginning. At heart I'm a synth/piano player that was my first music love, from there I became a producer. Dabling in trap beats for my friends cause I'm a Atlanta boy. Soothing, leads, slow mellow music tones and melodies is where my mind and heart stays. This is amazing. This is my favorite pedal I've come across yet. It's pricey for my pockets but the quality reflects and superseds that. Thanks for making this video without you I wouldn't have known this existed. Good love and energy to you and everyone who loves these vibes🙏🏽💕
Thanks to my (albeit late) discovery of this channel, Santa has an extra-long list this year. Meris has quickly become one of my fave companies these days.
Freakin' amazing man! Meris and ThePedalZone coming together is a beautiful thing. Both leading the way in what they do. Wonderful. I want this pedal!!
Awwww, man! Thank you so incredibly much for that kind comment. Meris are truly paving the way for the future of effects at the moment. Enzo is a true work of sonic art ❤
It truly seems like Meris have had access to my dreams and then somehow managed to realize them. Enzo is just unreal, and everything I could have ever hoped for and more. Happy to hear you feel the same way ❤
Not just one instrument. 4 instruments. Every mode is a new instrument to explore and master. Indeed an incredible pedal and one of my all time favorites. Happy to hear you dig it as well 😊
Sounds absolutely stunning. I think I know what the astronomer discovering the "WOW! signal" felt. I want to grab a red felt tip pen and write "WOW!" all over my screen. Sidenote: That Baum Backwing looks stunning. You don't really strike me as a Firebird-type guitar kinda guy, but the guitar looks stunning. I bet it sounds great too, when it's not being processed through technology from an alien dimension.
Well, I’m really happy you stuck around for that long, otherwise you would have missed your magical moment. This pedal is truly spectacular, and I can’t recommend it enough. Thank for watching, commenting and sticking around. Means a lot to me ❤️
Excellent demo, beautifully played, focused on clearly showing settings and techniques for getting these extraordinary sounds. The best demo I've seen yet on the Enzo (I've seen just about all of them). Actually have one of these onscreen, about to place the order . . . many thanks.
Incredibly kind of you! I feel a deep connection with Meris and their devices, so I'm happy to hear that it translates to the other end of the screen. They have 100% made the devices that've inspired me the most in the last 4 years.
I've never subscribed any pedal demo channel, but your demos are wonderful. Creative and maverick. TPZ is My first subscribed pedal demo channel. Keep up the good work!
Your videos are amazing. The tones you get and your playing are fantastic. You have become an authority on awesome pedals that I have to buy, especially unique pedals like the Enzo. First the LVX and now the Enzo. Thank you for sharing your gifts. Peace be with you always!
It is so unreal, my friend! Best synth pedal ever. Best pedal of 2018! Everything just leveled up, and I’m super excited. Happy to hear you enjoyed the sounds, buddy ❤️🙏
Stefan, this is such a great video. I've said it on other videos and I'm glad other people agree with me - can you make an album PLLLLEEEEAAAAASSSSSEE !! You'd make a killing!! Bro you are my favourite youtuber and your synth compositions are inspiring !
Excellent video. Got my Enzo Ferrari yesterday....It overtakes all my other pedals with ease..... absolutely incredible. Thanks a lot. Many regards from Chris Bunch of flowers music
I am literally holding my head in my hands. "No, no, NOOOOOO!". Not another pedal I have to get. You had me at "arpeggiator". Another excellent demo - hope you are on a commission from these boys ;-)
Holy crap. Finally a real synth pedal. Not a "synth" pedal, square wave fuzz or Freeze pedal with a bunch of shimmer effects tacked on, but an honest to god synth pedal. Thanks for the amazing demo as always. My only question, you think I can get NIN tones like the outro lead from Closer or the bridge for the Hand That Feeds?
You could probably get something close to The Hand That Feeds even though there's some bitcrushing and vibrato in there as well. With Closer, I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean the final pitch-warped piano sounds? Because those you can't get. It can't make piano-like sounds.
@@thepedalzone very very cool! Thank you so much for responding, one reason of many why you're the best. Probably should get the Aqueduct and the Ottobit just in case then haha. As for Closer, I guess I meant the synth lead tone between 5:30 and the warbled piano ending. Either way, once I get this pedal I'll have a lot of experimenting to do, and I'm confident I can probably get something real close. Thank you again man, you're the friggin best
@@danielprieto2270 "oR yOu CoUlD gEt A sYnTh" BOOOOORING, booooo, shame on you for your lack of creativity. Playing a guitar is different than playing a synth, also blending synth sounds with the sound of guitar is wonderful
Hi Stefan, just wanted to say that I love your channel. One of the very best here at RU-vid. The pedals, the presentation, your playing, sound quality etc. is exceptional. Enjoy every minute. Greetings from Germany
Come on!!! That's just.... I don't even know... THANK YOU!!! ❤❤❤ Stunned by your kindness, really! So happy to have you following and watching the channel. Means so much to me ☺
@@thepedalzone oh please I thank *you*. I don't have much money to buy pedals since most of my money went into buying a computer to record, and now goes into recording hardware. So watching you fiddle with pedals and then hearing you make all these wonderful sounds is great enough as it is. It transports me to a great place, made up of Synth guitar riffs, with Doom sonorities at some points, that express a deep and relatable melancholy. So I'm grateful Stefan. Thank you.
My pleasure, man! I always try to test pedals on as many audio sources as possible. At least in my in-depth demos like this one. Enzo handles anything you can possibly throw at it. Love how it can enhance or even fully transform the instrument you plug into it.
I love Meris's stuff, but after watching the other couple of review videos that are on youtube I logged this away as a "really cool but not going to purchase". Your demo really makes it shine though, and now it's back on the consideration list. Thank you for displaying how amazing this thing can sound! That last looping track at the end is incredible.
Thank you very very much! And yes, it is definitely one of the cooler pedals. It's just a masterpiece. Happy you enjoyed the final composition. I had a blast making it ❤
Uh, wow, referencing Vangelis, Boards of Canada, and Ulrich Schnauss in the first ten seconds? Yeah I'm subscribing. We clearly have more in common than a love of pedals! Also when I imagine performing the kind of music I love for people, I always see myself with a guitar, and a synth to one side of me. This thing could remove the keyboard from that equation and I'm so stoked by the possibility.
Really, really wonderful demo full of actual playing and diverse applications. Discovered you via reddit, and can't wait to check out more of your channel!
@@thepedalzone Just imagine a EHX Mel 9, POG 2, Earthquaker Pitch Bay or Organizer, and like a Morpheus Bomber with this heh heh. Love your vids btw; you got the feels for music and sound.
