The OP-1 is such a ridiculously overpriced piece of junk... As soon as I see a video with it being used, I automatically skip it like I'm doing with this video... 💥
Hey Liam! Any chance you’re going to make a video on the 1.5.6 update on the op1 field? Didn’t see any takes from nobody and the clone tape feature really looks like a change for a smoother workflow on the unit.
Very enjoyable and informative video, another fantastic pedal from Meris (have the LVX and few others), can't wait to dive into the universe of Mercury X!
Really appreciate the synth focused video! Nice review of a few presets and the pitch parameter. One thing I’m very excited about with this reverb is stereo effect. What parameter or performance function would you explore?
Is it true stereo or again another reverb pedal that is in basis a mono effect with a stereo in and out and thus sums my mix to mono and then spreads it over the stereo field however it feels like. Because no matter how much I want to love pedal reverbs like the Strymon Nightsky, they muddy any pingpong delay or panned sound I run thru it. In a way that a cheap Valhalla delay just doesn't, because Valhalla runs in true stereo on my computer. With ridiculously minimal CPU usage I must add. So I wonder what is stopping the pedal makers, I guess when almost no one asks for it, they can save a tiny bit on processing chip costs, since it does not have to run the same algorithms twice, one for each channel. The Dreadbox Darkness reverb pedal runs in true stereo and that doesn't even cost that much, so it can easily be done. Many people won't notice it, but after trying similar algorithms on a sum to mono reverb pedal and then on a true stereo plugin it becomes a world of difference. I know mono reverbs have their place in mixing and some swear by them, I just can't un-hear the clarity of true stereo reverbs when things are panned.
Deep diving is your forte .. as you once again put on display the countless possibilities .... your exploration of product was thorough ..suggestive as much as informative ... cheers!
I only go critical when someone says weird things like this in comments. but clearly it was not (and probably never meant to be) a deep dive, or any sort of thorough product exploration.. just a quickie on the release day, a few params and ads to boot. come on.
