Fine dry pigments can be "fixed" into place by using either a pigment fixer or watered down PVA glue, which can have some "body" to it. That is ok if you need to show built up accumulations on things like roadwheels or suspension components. On upper surfaces, that might not be desirable, in those cases just use enamel thinner to fix the pigment. Once the thinner has evaporated it will leave that dusty look you're looking for. Whatever you do, don't try to seal dry pigments with a flat coat of acrylic clear, this will literally cause the pigment to disappear! Hope that helps, take care and have fun with your project. Thanks for the great question, Zorg! I believe it's a combination of recording device, (in my case a smart phone), lighting, the colors I'm using, and some amateur videoing skills. LOL. All combined, they caused the anomalies in the video. Quality video equipment would probably eliminate such error's from occurring, but since I'm "self-funded" it will be a while before I upgrade to a professional camera.
