One of the best songs that Mighty Merle does! Just plain beautiful. He even sounds good when he talks! Can he sing any bad song? He is the best! Janelle in Houston
a true living legend, and one of the best True Country Music Singer/SongWriters of our time. God bless this man, for he has given us his heart, mind, and soul in his music. thanks for sharing.
I was in my 20's or 30's when I first heard this song and it was only ,25 to play on the jukebox. I am now 63 and have looked high and low for it does any one know what album I can find it on. Margaret Jones I could listen to it all night long lots of memories.
+Margaret Jones The song first appeared on his 1978 Capitol Records album entitled I'm Always On A Mountain When I Fall. I am 48 years old and have listened to Hag since I was 8 years old. A sad week for those of us who treasured Merle's golden voice, and a tragic loss to the genre of traditional country music.
What a great song! Merle was the BEST! Never get tired of listening to his music! Still miss him and miss my Jim. My Jim left me in 2015. He did take me to see Merle one more time before Merle left us in 2016! Love both of them, especially my Jim. (My husband of many many years). Janelle in Houston
Love this Aritist Merle Haggard You are Legendary. I mean it! To earn the favorite status from country giant and legend in his own right George Jones man you got pipes and real raw talent. Thank You Merle for your contribution to Country Music. You are a true Aritist and a Living Legend.
I always loved the way Merle did his own backing/harmony vocals on this one..Just a great song. BTW This song was released in January 1978 on his I'm Always on a Mountain When I Fall album.
My, my how beautiful, what talent, love every song 🎵 he sings, he did a tribute song to Elvis, so happy 😊 for that!! He and Elvis are my favorites of all times!! Thanks for all the greats they left us. May they RIP. 💔💔💘💕🙏
RIP -A true country singer with a great voice, I never get tired listening to his songs .what a great loss to country music,he is one of a kind.you will be greatly missed.
For me this song relates to a totally different set of circumstances. Although not every word applies this song relates to the pain and suffering from having a spouse with ALZ Dementia. Allagorically the space of time distance and speradicism descibe ones way of coping with the cognative decline and unwaivering commitment to that individual anyhow. Love Me When You Can.
What a great insight, songs of this magnitude can take on so many meanings! My mother suffered from Alzheimer's for almost 10 years....I can relate...Bless you and your spouse!
I know you can't always be here with me You can't find what all you need with just one man You're hardly ever free and seldom lonely What I'm tryin' to say is love me when you can. And don't feel like I expect you to be through me Any time you'll have to leave I'll understand I don't have what all it takes to keep you happy What I'm tryin' to say is love me when you can. ******************** Let me be the one you sometimes come to You just barely have the time for one more friend I'll be satisfied with any crumb you'll throw me What I'm tryin' to say is love me when you can. Don't feel like I expect you to be through me Any time you'll have to leave I'll understand I'll be satisfied with any crumb you'll throw me What I'm tryin' to say is love me when you can.....
Can someone tell me where I could possibly get this CD I have been looking for it since I was in my twenties (my old bar running days) It has a lot of memories I am now 60 and would love to purchase this as I can not find it not even on Amazon Thanks
I have listened to this song hundreds of times but for the life of me I don't understand the meaning. Love me when you can? Just doesn't make sense to me. Can anyone help me with the message in this song?
+Virginia McCabe Just whenever you come by this way...when you are not so busy...I will take that little bit of your time...and you can just love me when you can... Enjoy Virginia McCabe :)
